Am I then only one who was disappointed by Owens' on the field play since he got here?

I expected old take over the game Owens and I rarely saw that guy, his last season here was a really disappointing one for me.

I just never thought he lived up to expectations, he was good not great, heck I always thought Healthy Terry Glenn was a much better player...

No, you're not. He was quite underwhelming in 2006 and 2008. 2007 was the TO I was expecting to see when he signed though.

Eh...none of them, really. All of these guys were either bad apples, replaced by a better player, overvalued, or just didn't contribute much.

But if I had to chose one, I'd say Burnett only because he seemed to handle the nickel LB position fairly well when he was healthy, something that this team really needs. I'm hopeful that Carpenter take the job and run with it, but at this point, who knows...?

Here is the list of the dearly departed.

Terrell Owens
Greg Ellis
Roy Williams
Keith Davis
Chris Canty
Tank Johnson
Pacman Jones
Zach Thomas
Brad Johnson
Brooks Bollinger
Joe Berger
Kevin Burnett
Anthony Henry
Carlos Polk

I must say Keith Davis by far.

After him Pacman Jones and Kevin Burnett.

On a pure contribution basis, I will miss Owens, Ellis, Canty and Burnett. Even if you believe that guys will step into their positions effectively, we have unquestionably lost some depth.

Igor might not be much worse than Canty (if he can be as healthy), but I don't think that Spencer + a TBD equals the depth of Ellis and Spencer. Nobody will replace Owens, but we could probably have a more complete player than Burnett in his spot.

Keith Davis and Greg Ellis

Ellis just for the fact that his release was the end of a downward, attitudinal spiral, from all-around good guy to whining Nancy

Davis because he was one of our leaders, and was the heart and soul of the special team's units

Tie between Roy Williams and Terrell Owens.

For Roy, I think he's a good guy who was once a great player that got phased out of the game due to the changes in TE's over the years. I think he was often viciously attacked by the media and oddly enough by TV camera operators. I'll never forget in the '07 playoff game vs. the G-Men when Amani Toomer caught a TD pass against Anthony Henry and then Henry and Ellis missed the tackle and for some reason the camera panned right at Roy Williams the entire time. Or in '05 when we were playing at Seattle and Jerramy Stevens caught a big pass over Willie Pile and Roy was somehow blamed for that reception AND HE WAS BLITZING THE QB AND HIT HASSELBECK JUST AS HE THREW. I don't think I've ever seen the media so giddy to see a player's demise and wonder if the show's directors instructed camera men to pan to Roy every time a big play happened. Not to say that he never gave up big plays, but it got to the point where after almost every big play, he got the blame.

For Owens, I think most of it was another hatchet job by the media. He was largely embraced by the media when he first came to Philly and then they kept saying to the effect 'we wish he would just act better because he's a great person that doesn't get into trouble off the field.' Then he comes to Dallas and it was extremely apparent that this didn't apply to him if he played for the Cowboys. They wanted to see him fail from day one. I think Owens had issues with Garrett behind closed doors, but I don't think he had a problem with Romo (at least while he was here) and certainly not Witten. But Mr. Blue Suit had ONE 'anonymous source' and did a hatchet job on him and it caused him to go. I'm sort of glad that he's not around with his reality show coming up, but generally I think he's more good than bad as a person and I don't like the media influencing the organization's decisions.

I don't know if i'll say that i'm 'sad' about anyone of these players leaving. But, i did enjoy watching Keith Davis on special teams, I hope his leadership and intensity can be replaced and even upgraded this year.

Chris Canty was my pet cat when we drafted him and he was decent for us but he didn't live up to my expectation for him. I'm dissappointed that he didn't breakout in Dallas like i wanted him to, I hope he doesn't in NY.

You know what I have to kind aagree and take back my earlier statement. I will miss Davis. He was literally on one leg and seemed like the only player that wasn't playing scared in that Eagles game. Guy is all heart and you have to respect that.

I won't miss any of these guys because they all had something negative attached to them, that I felt just wasn't enough to keep em around.

Terrell Owens - old, WCO receiver, dropped a ton of passes and disappeared in too many games cuz he couldn't get separation
Greg Ellis - old, looked lethargic covering at OLB and took 10 seasons to make the Pro Bowl...Jeffcoat and Tolbert were better players before him
Roy Williams - lost a step or two or three, then lost his confidence and finally, his big money job along with it
Keith Davis - special teams ace and backup safety who got older and that's ok...just not on this team now
Chris Canty - close but no cigar, big in terms of measurables sure, but not so big in terms of disrupting plays or creating havoc...gentle giant syndrome?
Tank Johnson - a gun happy 4-3 DT brought in for NT depth...wrong!
Pacman Jones - thug that won't mature off the field..arrest waiting to happen...make it rain someplace else Adam
Zach Thomas - old, best years behind him and it showed on every late tackle he made
Brad Johnson - very old, every time he threw the ball I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers
Brooks Bollinger - looked totally clueless cuz he never expected to play...careerbackupitis has clearly set in
Joe Berger - what's to miss?
Kevin Burnett - nickel LB that can't stay healthy but wanted a new contract and bonus anyway....riiiight!...don't let the door hit your *** on the the way out!
Anthony Henry - big cb that lost a step and tried to hide it by playing off...it ran it's course and than he got ran out of town
Carlos Polk - average lb and the focus on special teams in the draft made him expendable
