This question is speaking in terms of as a whole, not a particular player that plays a position.

1. 3-4 olb

2. RB

3. Wideout

4. 3-4 nose tackle

5. CB

6. OTHER

7. Kicker. Just ask the Bungles.

3-4 OLB most definitely

you have to attack OTs, you have to pursue fromm the backside, and you have to drop into coverage, all at full-speed

very good OLBs must be supreme athletes

Corner Back - try back-pedalling with a guy coming full speed, not knowing where he's going to stop or cut too, then follow his every move, not slip and fall, not knowing when the ball will be thrown, looking up while keeping up with the speedy player, then out-jumping a taller guy to keep him from catching it.

Edit: let me add to this. You also have to come up and tackle some 250 pound monster every now and then, and occasionally, you'll have to take a punt to the house.

you guys are settling an argument for me. I say CB for these reasons.
You need to be able to backpedal well off the line and then fluidly turn your hips to get into position if the route is going past you, or break quickly forward if it's in front of you. You're trying tos tay with a guy who knows exactly where he's going, while you need to adjust to his movements on the fly. You need to be fast enough to cover receivers, but strong enough (unless you're Deion) to bring receivers down and aid in stopping the running game.

You are covering guys ranging from steve smith to Fitz, to Moss, to TO...short shifty guys, Strong Fast guys, long strides, short strides..are they gonna be physical are they selling one route to do another, and a CB has to respond and still be there.....And they are in an all out sprint dang near every play.

and you are on an Island.

I have to go with CB too.

Real life example: Every February the football team I play with gets together early before conditioning begins and we all run "the hill". This hill is hell. Let me just put it that way. But it really get you jump started into conditioning drills which start mid April.

We run a particular exercise where you run up at about a 45 degrees, straight down, up at 45, straight down, up again at 45, and straight down. Three times equals one rep. While big guys like me run it forward the cornerbacks/safeties run that 45 degree up backwards (rather swiftly I might add). I tried backpedaling up the hill once and all most busted my *** something fierce.

judging by your arms, I don't think the hill is for you:p:

CB....no question....the question was athletic ability, not versatility.

a part of being athletic is being to do anything asked of you very well

Corner backs are some of the cockiest people in the world. You have to be that way to do the job they do, if you lack any type of confidence, you'll be eaten alive.

Pup was a star receiver that talked so much trash to Jerry Rice, he had the guts to talk trash to the best recever this earth has ever seen, then proceeded to shut him down.

I would agree. Of course I played OLB back in the day so I might be a bit biased. :D

I'll say QB because you have to not only be athletically gifted but also you need to be incredibly smart and I consider intelligence to be a part of athleticism.

just look at Ware for an example

there has never been a CB with that type of athleticism, he's big, he's fast, he's strong, and he's as fluid as a corner

it's no big accomplishment to be small, and to be able to run around at high speed
