What position can a rookie make a Martin like impact next year?

a linebacker or RB would have a huge impact than any Dlineman we select in the first rd because that guy will be in a 8 man rotation but i still think Dline is the way to go in the 1st rd.

true but then with a quality DT you may not have to rotate him as much as you will with a lesser talented player. Watts for example will come out but he also plays the vast majority of snaps.

We've seen quite a few RBs have huge impacts as rookies and to be honest, had Odell Beckum been healthy all year, he may have been a 2nd team all pro.

I think a safety would be huge addition, but I don't think we have to get one in the first (several good ball-hawking safeties look like later picks). Also on d-line, there are several players that look like pure pass rushers that could fall because of their run stopping ability (or lack thereof). If we could help these guys with some linebacker help (and maybe getting an elite run stopping DT... I still want Knighten even if he is too big for us) then a DE could come in and have a huge impact for us. While chances are none of these guys will be All-Pro, their impact to our game might be just as big.

I would say RB. We have seen it over and over with rookie RBs coming in and having significant impact on team. Eddie Lacy was a late 2nd round pick 2 years ago. I would look for that type of RB and sprinkle in Randle little more.

Defensive end defensive tackle linebacker. All possible.

A safety, LB, or CB could make an impact as a starter on this defense as a rookie, but unlikely to have a pro bowler out of any.

A DT....maybe, but I think our impact DL this year need to come via FA....doesn't mean we can't find a rookie contributor or eventual starter on DL, but very unlikely we get a starter on DL in the draft, IMO.

in my opinion its DT after thinking alot about the season i feel....that if we had a significant improvement at DT, and not Suh as many here want we need someone with more size, espn was talking about a mock draft and they were talking about some fellow i wanna saw from iowa or maybe mizzo a yellow and black team. I thought they hit it right on, which is crazy ... but the guy looked monster and a marinelli type player fill the lane and make the tackle type player perfect 3 tech

in my opinion its almost certain that the cowboys go DL in the first, no CB or S coming out is worth the first...we either go DT or RB if not that best player available. its gonna be a fun offseason i believe, maybe some trades idk

If Alvin Dupree or a Michael Bennett fall to us at 27 they could make big impacts. Not instant All-Pros like Martin though.

Michael Bennett would be a hellion in Marinelli's defense.

I think a monster 1-tech could make a huge positive impact. Carl Davis, Xavier Williams or Tyeler Davison would fit nicely next to Crawford. Add Michael Bennett into that DT rotation with McClain, Bishop and Brent, and I think the Dallas front 7 would take a leap forward.

Thanks.
I wouldn't want to bump Dez out, but don't ODB's numbers project to be better than Dez's had ODB played a full season?
Dez dosent get hurt thats why he is so good ... you cant get him off the field even if he had a broken leg

Martin is such a rare player with his skill set. Even when he showed signs of being overwhelmed a bit he recovered.

I think we as fans should acknowledge this is not an average rookie, or even a really good rookie. This is a Larry Allen type player, who if he puts in ten years as a pro will reach the HOF.

These guys don't come along very often.

Looking at our Free agents and my Chrystal ball.. I think none on offense... Parnell or Free will be here.. WR is Set. TE is set.. RB will be Murray or some other Free agent.. The line is set... On defense... FS I can see. Wilcox and Church are the same Player..LB is a mash unit but a rookie won't unseat Lee and Hitchens. Durant, Mc and Carter are free agents. But I think at least one will be back.. That leaves DE and DT. The only keepers are Crawford and Lawrence... The rest are Just rotational guys.... Guess I'm saying. I'd like the following positions addressed rounds 1-4.. FS, DT, DE and More DE.

I can see a guy like Gurley or Mike Smith starting over Randle if they are a better pass protector and light it up behind this OL. If Gurley is healthy i would hope he would be the pick at 27. He is on track to workout for scouts before the draft.

Talent can make an impact no matter what position. I doubt many felt a Guard would make this much of an impact yet he did. I just hope the player we get who can make an impact is on the defensive side of the ball.

Don't think we'll find one to start and make ALL PRO.....but to at least start and make an impact I would say FS, CB and DT.-----but they would have to be top tier talent and picks. On offense it would be RB, provided Murray was gone, Peterson not available and one stud fell in our laps at #27.

He must of seen AP's doctor... I don't want a RB round 1.. 3 or 4th is the sweet spot.
