What team will have the guts to draft Sam? What round

i dont know about who is going to draft him but i am sure jerry wont draft him,he wont be on our draft board.

I'm curious to see how this plays out. If he's that good he should get drafted high. Especially after the combine. If he performs well and doesn't get drafted high you know it's based on his personal life which would cause some back lash

Sounds like the type of player you take in the 7th. Player with some talent that has an issue or two. I care more about can he prevent the other team from scoring rather than who he scores with.

He was the SEC DPOY.

As long as he can crush Foles, Eli, and RG3 on a regular basis I could care less.

I heard he's a mid first rounder. If he's in fact that good, there's no reason for teams to shy away from him. The orientation barrier has to be broken at some point.

I'm not sure where you heard that, but from everything I have been hearing he is rated as approx the 17th best DE prospect in the draft and was expected to be drafted around the fourth round or so. With that said, from a personal perspective I don't think that his sexuality should have any bearing on his draft status.

Cowboys not because Jerry supports gay rights but because of the attention it would bring. Don't think Sam a DE more of an outside 3-4 LB.

Kiper was on SportsCenter last night and gave him a 4th round grade. His size keeps him from getting drafted earlier.

There was a thread on what "splash" JJ would make this year..............well--here ya' go. He would be the most overanalyzed player on the most over-analyzed team in sports.........once on a team---would be then be un-cuttable?

2nd-3rd round, if he works out well.

I could see a few teams passing on him just because they don't want the media attention that goes with selecting the first openly gay player but I don't think his draft stock will be effected very much by that.

Just think of all those teams who passed on the "media circus" of the first black baseball player.

Hey, if this guy can help the team we should take him. However, I doubt if he'll drop much. There is probably an owner out there who wants to make a Branch Rickey/Jackie Robinson like move, which would mean he would go about where he is expected to be picked.

Seconded.

He's got pass rush ability. That's pretty coveted in the NFL. I doubt he'll fall very far.

Lets see....
1. He was the MVP defensively of the SEC - simply put the best defensive player in college football this year at least by stats

2. He was, according to other SEC teams, the guy they had to account for on every play.

3. He played to the whistle on all plays according to scouts and never gave up on a play.

4. Was one of the main reasons that Missouri had the season that they did.

5. Told his teammates in August he was gay, hmm how did that affect their play.

6. Dallas had the worst defense in the NFL last year and one of if not the worst pass rushs.

7. Dallas needs guys that work hard, play hard to the whistle, and get results on defense.

8. Rated between a 2nd and 5th round choice due to his size.

9. But Dallas fans don't want him because he is gay.

If he is there in the 3rd and the best player on the board, Dallas would be foolish to pass him up. We complain because we didn't draft Randy Moss because of his attitude, we complained that we traded down last year to get Frederick. Hmmm how did those things pan out.

If fans don't believe there are already gays in football then I have some choice ocean front property in Kansas I would like to sell them.

I suspect he wont end up getting drafted or will be drafted extremely late. It is going to be a media circus for whatever team drafts him-- teams are going to shy away.

I don't mind if he is drafted here if he can play but realize you are saying it will be a circus..... And we all know for Jerry there is nothing better than the flashing lights, microphones, roar of the crowd and delight of the kids when it is under the Big Top.

I hear this kid is pretty good though and if he fell later I don't see why they wouldn't take a look, his stats from last year were pretty impressive and they can use a guy that can apply pressure from the outside.

How did passing on Moss pan out?

Badly. We should have drafted him.

Does Dallas really need the media circus that would come with this?

The question isn't if Dallas needs the circus...it's does Jerry want the circus.

I really don't care either way...it's all a publicity stunt anyway.

The circus and media coverage that will ensue after drafting this player pretty much screams for JJ to draft him.
