What to do with Witten?

If Witten must be here where would you put him?

Of the 2 options, if JJ is hell bent on Witt getting a shot at HC— then go ahead and give him the job now.

I respect Witt as a player, and he would have the respect of the guys in the locker room as far as what he accomplished on the field. Getting the job just handed to him? The hire would no doubt raise some eyebrows.

As a coach, I think he would set a culture of discipline, hard work, and high effort.

Give him some experienced coordinators and let him take his lumps on the job.

I think that is far more desirable than forcing him onto someone else’s staff.

Well since you're asking...I would ask if he plays golf and then play 18 with him, Aikman and Romo. That's my foursome.

It's happening. I'm as sure he's on the team next year as I am Dak Prescott. Whether we like it or not. In both cases.

So here's my question. Since it's unavoidable would you rather he be forced on a more experienced head coach as an offensive assistant to groom him or would you just prefer making him the head coach right now and not having that kind of dysfunction?

What hurts more? The dysfunctional environment of pushing an assistant on the new head coach that the owner has future plans for or Witten's total lack of experience to be a Head Coach in the NFL right now?

This is very thought provoking question that bare minimum deserves a like.

I will forward the results over to the Joneses.
#3: Start a ******** or Kickstarter and raise money for him on the condition he rejects any Cowboys offer

I don't know much about Witten as a coach, other than he coaches high school. That's a big jump and would be a silly head coaching hire at this point. Maybe he's on the staff as a TEs coach/passing game coordinator, but this is part of Jones problem trying to push coaches on head coaches.

If that's really the reason a deal fell through with McCarthy that's laughable, maybe they were both looking for an out.
