Cutting Crawford costs Dallas 500k. no capspace gained. Did you even think about that or even look it up before coming up with that?I would sign Poe, I would have signed one of those great corners that Either New England or the Bills signed, and I would have gone after Calais or the Philly DE that just got let go.
I would cut Crawford and trade Romo. Not sure that would do it but then again I am not the one that mismanaged the cap.
You sign those three guys and you have the potential for one heck of a defense.
I would also sign Claiborne. 4 million per year I would do it. When healthy he is a top corner from what I saw last year.
LOL.
Team just went 13-3, has their young QB and TB and the league's best OL and we are rebuilding?
Geezus. If this team doesn't make the playoff the next couple of years or gets bounced early again in the playoffs the next couple of year, heads should ********* roll. That would be a screw up of epic proportions.
That's one reaction that I get way too often.

The DE Philly let go?
Connor Barwin?
He stinks. He struggled in the conversion to a 4-3 DE.
were fine on offense, there is no doubting that but our D is gong to continue to be our thorn. the cowboys have shown they can go from 13-3 to 4-12 pretty darn quick. our defense was poor to begin with and were losing pieces of it and probably relying on guys in the draft to fill it and contribute and be better than the guys we've lost immediately. i just dont see the D getting better than what we had last year as of now. not to mention the talent in our division has gone up already in free agency. we may get into the playoffs but just like this year our D will lose it for us. hopefully our offense balls out so much it can overcome a poor D like Atlanta's did, but we all saw how that worked out for them in the end.
Im not as familiar with him. But 26 sacks in two years seems great to me. Or is that stat not correct?
I was not aware it wouldnt create cap room. But It may not create anything this year, but I am sure it would in the next few years. Gotta get these overpaid, bad contract guys off the roster. Take your lumps and move on for the good of the long term. Or make him take a pay cut.
just dont trust the defense and the talent in our division has gone up. i guess only time will tell. They went from 12-4 to 4-12 because of one thing - no QB. Not because of the defense.
There is no reason whatsoever to think this team is a non-playoff, rebuilding team. That's downright absurd.
They did the OL while going 8-8, and last year had the #4 picks, so it is hard to build thru draft with a winning record.i honestly think this team is embracing a defensive rebuild. next 3 years get low draft positions and build the d line like it did with the O. i dont see us going anywhere or even making the playoffs baring getting some huge steals in the draft that can come in and be studs on day 1. in 3 years hopefully our cap will be better too. the team is rebuilding in my mind.
He's had 26.5 sacks over the last three years. 14 came three seasons ago when he was playing his natural 3-4 OLB position. Then sacks tailed off to 7 in 2015. Then they dipped to just 4 last year when they tried to make him a DE in their new 4-3 defense.
Further, it should bring up some questions as to why the Eagles, who are said to also be looking for pass rush help in the draft would cut him. Barwin offered to take a pay cut to stay in Philly and the Eagles refused.
I'd look at him if he was really cheap. Other than that, he doesn't look like a good fit here, especially considering how he had some issues moving to DE.

Ah.........good points.
Then I would have certainly gone after Calais.

Are you really sure it would create cap space in the next few years? I genuinely don't know. I'm all for cutting mediocre players if it'll save us significant money. But no sense cutting a guy if there's nothing to gain from it unless he's such a head case that it'll be addition by subtraction. Hopefully Collins can continue to progress and make Crawford more and more irrelevant.
Calais was way out of our price range.
Only because we have mishandles the cap.
