Throwing at Diggs is like going to the Casino. You might win or you might lose all your money.

I like that analogy because it's also comparable to how the casino odds are against you, much like how the NFL rules are stacked in the offense's favor. So you can bet small and take small risks so that your money lasts longer but the odds are going to beat you over time,,,,, or you can take bigger risks and maybe break the bank.

...Diggs gives up the occasional big play. Strangest take the receivers somehow come up with the ball while Diggs is right on them. More luck, I'd say.

It’s a product of today’s NFL, imo. Pass happy offenses, QBs with referee barriers around them, and defensive backs forced to play with both hands tied behind their backs.

This is not a shot at Diggs as it doesn't even seem right to me that he's given up the most yardage. I don't know how you can accomplish that without it being painfully obvious on the field. He doesn't seem to me like a completion waiting to happen. Not at all.

But it's unacceptable to give up the most yards.

11 interceptions is also undeniable. That is special.

It's the oddest year I've seen from a Cowboy and I honestly don't know how to feel about it.

He is looking to make a play every time so he will take risk and in man coverage you best be right if you are a risk taker. I will say sometimes the QB just throws the perfect pass that really can't be defended especially with the modern day rules that CB face.

As I mentioned in another thread, Diggs takes chances and that's why he may give up some big plays from time to time. I'm fine with it because the man is aggressive and takes the ball away.

The best explanation I can come up with is that he mostly defends against the other teams' top WRs...he doesn't get to cover so-so WR's. The other guys get paid, too.

He hasn't been giving up much this second half of the season.
That's a key point there. His coverage has improved over the course of the year and he's still getting INTs. In his second year he's in the process of getting better. I'd like to see his game by game yards allowed to see if the number go down like it sees. But I'm too lazy to do that.

I don’t know what to make of it either. I gave this some consideration some time ago. He doesn’t look “that bad” in terms of his play with the eyeball test. On the other hand, even with all his INTs teams are still throwing the ball at him, which also seems very odd to me. After a while you would figure teams would throw away from him like they did Sanders.

There must be something to that stat that encourages teams to continue to throw at him. Maybe it’s in part due to the fact that he is traveling with the best receiver?

Sounds kind of like a MLB pitcher that's leading the league in strikeouts and giving up the most home runs.

How I feel - not worth a 2nd extension. Consistently in a CB is key. If you get beat for a TD and then get a pick in the same game. You pretty much didn't do anything in game, and if that pick isn't a pick 6 or your team didn't score, then that pick is less valuable than giving up that TD.

This is a joke of a take

Same guy who made it a point last week to tell me how the dline is under performing. He literally wanted to go back and forth for multiple posts to complain about how they only sacked Glennon ONE time, never mind giving up 6 points. Clown show.

He's fantastic. Give me a DB like him more than Byron Jones. The stat dorks at PFF love Byron and built him up to be some great DB (he was not at all). And they have Diggs rated near the bottom. Give me a DB who makes plays on the ball and knows how to go get the ball. Who cares if he has the most yards against. He has 11 picks and that offsets it easily, hence a pro bowl selection. It's a no brainer.

You take away 11 INTs and your left with a guy that has given up the most receiving yards this season.

Just because you keep saying doesn't make it true. PFF is wrong A LOT - probably 40-50% of the time when rating DBs and coverages. They "make stuff up" to stay relevant.

PFF - half way through the Longwhorn's season, said Steve Sarkasian was "leading the way" to be named coach of the year. PFF has an agenda, you just have to take off the blinders.

I think Kazee has helped with a lot of those yards given up.

It just means he’s talented but freelances too much and needs more consistency and film study
