I'm probably Moore's biggest supporter. He's one of the best play-callers, designers in the league, imo. I think the guy could still play . . . although not sure if that's ever happened where a coach actually suits up in a game.

Like Prescott, the guy gets too much hate from fans, usually. But the criticism in this case is warranted. We're all human, we're all going to make mistakes. But I feel like Prescott is better than some fans give him credit for. And I think Moore is usually better, as well. But the Jags game was lost by two people.. Kelvin Joseph, and Kellen Moore.

I'm still not ready to write off either. I just want to see them tighten it up, and be ready. Joseph should worry more about giving up the deep plays.. And Moore should set up the run passing.

On the other hand, it's like GORICO stated in another thread... You run the ball and force the Jags to call their timeout and we likely win the game.

So close . . . that was a heartbreaking game. I've noticed nobody is really calling out Parsons, who kinda disappeared vs. Jacksonville.....

Moronic, from KM down to Dak. You want to throw the ball and try to pick up the 1st? Fine. But dial up something that actually has a chance to get the completion and keep the clock running… not all verticals! Idiots. Even if you don’t get the 1st, keeping the clock running is priority #1 in that situation. Taking a sack is literally better than an incompletion in that spot.

What is wrong with this franchise?? Why are we allergic to smart situational football??
Exactly. Trying for the 1st down is fine, but why choose a low percentage play? Wanna pass? Fine, but go with a higher percentage play instead of throwing so deep, especially with tight coverage. AND like you said....keep the clock running.
Typical K Moore play calling. *SMH*

Tbh how that game was going the Jags was going to score with or without the TO. I wish they inserted a play that yielded a high win rate. A deep pass on 3rd and 10 is a no unless the WR had the man beat.

So what everyone complaining about the call is really saying is that the OC and HC should not trust their 40 million dollar QB to make the right decision. It’s simple really. We are going to run this play. If we catch them sleeping on the run play and someone uncovers take the shot and win the game. If not eat the ball and get what you can or simply fall down. Whatever you do do not throw a 50/50 ball in that situation. Guess what our QB did.

Looking at the other options that was the right choice. The play call for this down stink.

We'll never know but they were left with 5 seconds to kick the FG after the timeout. It totally changes the play calling on their end by having that TO in the pocket.

What is this??????? We chose THIS over making them use their timeout? This is on Kellen and McCarthy.

Brown had an entire side of the field to himself, and his man was playing way off. It was simply *exactly* the worst coverage for the defense to play, giving us an easy an easy pitch and catch on any kind of comeback.
Dak is *totally* unhurried with Brown already past the sticks.

What I want to know is if Brown *had the option* to break off the route and come back.
If so, he screwed up by not taking that option.
If not, the coach screwed up.

"Just run the ball", people moan.
No, give yourself a chance to get the first down to close out the game, but only take that chance on a high percentage play. The pass Dak threw was *not* it. The other WR routes were *not* it either.

Lacking a coverage failure, throw the ball underneath or just pull it down and run. Losing a few yards against a chance to close out the game is worth it.

Kinda like the "Dez caught it" game. It was 4th and 4 and Romo made that throw like he was wearing a red jersey in Oxnard. Dumb team culture continues.

My recollection is that Beasley was the hot read but the defender simply made the right call on his leverage, standing right in the path of Beasley's called route.
It happens. And then you make the best of it.

Air Coryell Jr......those routes may have worked in Boise. Dak, for the sake of his career, may want to start yelling on the sidelines.....so he can be called a "cancer". As long as he is connected to Air Coryell Jr.........there will be no maturation in his play.

Just another terrible designed run play from Moore. And how many times did we run with the trips formation bunched close to line of scrimmage? We should be running the ball down other teams throats, then hitting them with play action, but Moore’s run scheme is not good right now.

Yeah terrible call. You HAVE to run it there and take their last TO. It’s ballsy and everyone applauds it if it works but single call changed the outcome of the game from a w to an L

True but the defense has get a 3 & out instead of letting them march back with less than 2 mins if this team is going to make any run in the playoffs.

Need another NT to stop the run which is the #1 priority of any defense.

This is often the crap Dak throws into. It's moronic. I can't stand this coordinator who's been bailed out by player talent for far too long. Just like Garrett he doesn't make us better.

All that without even taking into context the timing of the call. Nothing more aggressive than a slant should've been called. We needed to keep the clock running.

If I'm not mistaken they got in FG range and still manage to stop the clock after review, and was rewarded back that TO. I'm not 100% sure. I just didn't like play design of our last play.

It's really simple to me, KM is saying his best situational play was a 50/50 ball to a WR that is probably 4th on many teams' depth charts. I know some will disagree but I will say it again, I find it hard to believe Dak agreed with the play when it was called. The game is on the line, you have Jags just where you want them. I would have loved to see him take a little more control here and call a timeout to get a better play. Sean Payton once admitted he could not count the times' Drew Brees saved his _____ from a bad play called by changing it or calling a timeout.

People also don’t realize we did the same shot gun draw two times in a row that drive, the second time was so telegraphed and it got stuffed. We had been using that same play out of the same formation several times even I knew it was coming at that point.
