I expected, hoped, for an 11 or 12 win season assuming no major injuries. What I didn’t anticipate was their absolute dominance at home and almost total ineptness on the road. I think, but I could be wrong, they will bounce back at home next week against the Lions. But as it stands, unless something, crazy happens, they would have to go win three straight road playoff games. The best predicator of future behavior is past behavior. I don’t think they make it out of the wildcard round on the road at this point.
After 40 plus years, I am still a fan, will root for them and be hopeful but I have zero expectations at this point. Today was not a moral victory just because it was close. Miami was begging for them to beat them.
I am disappointed in Dak and the offense for disappearing for roughly 3 quarters, disappointed in the coaches play calling, disappointed in the defense for the last drive. Disappointed in the coaches and players reaction after the game from what I have read. I think as a team, they needed this win against a quality opponent on the road and they failed.
On to the Lions…
