I expected, hoped, for an 11 or 12 win season assuming no major injuries. What I didn’t anticipate was their absolute dominance at home and almost total ineptness on the road. I think, but I could be wrong, they will bounce back at home next week against the Lions. But as it stands, unless something, crazy happens, they would have to go win three straight road playoff games. The best predicator of future behavior is past behavior. I don’t think they make it out of the wildcard round on the road at this point.

After 40 plus years, I am still a fan, will root for them and be hopeful but I have zero expectations at this point. Today was not a moral victory just because it was close. Miami was begging for them to beat them.

I am disappointed in Dak and the offense for disappearing for roughly 3 quarters, disappointed in the coaches play calling, disappointed in the defense for the last drive. Disappointed in the coaches and players reaction after the game from what I have read. I think as a team, they needed this win against a quality opponent on the road and they failed.

On to the Lions…

Take out all the emotion and homerism, what was your realistic expectations for this team at the start of the season?

If everything worked out right, my top expectation was playing in the conference championship. That goal is very much still attainable.

Are they legitimate Super Bowl contenders? No, they have to fix their rushing offense, be better stopping the run and improve greatly with All these penalties.
12-5

8-9 so I can be happy they achieve wildcard spot. Gotta keep the expectation low with this team.

I had the team coming in 2nd in the division behind Philly................looks like that prediction was spot on.

I had the team getting a wildcard..................looks like that prediction was spot on.

I had them winning in the first round and losing in the Divisional round......................to be determined, but looking like that prediction is going to be spot on as well.

Dam, I hate being right all the time:banghead:

I will be honest. I expect a Super Bowl and still believe we can get there. It’s obvious though that offensively that we are dependent on the health of Tyron and Zach.

NFCCG and as stated, that is still attainable. I know I'm a minority here but I'm proud of how they played Sunday. All I ask for in any game is to compete and give yourself a chance to win it at the end. They did that Sunday.......it's a different team from a year ago. I certainly don't understand fans bashing Dak. IMO, he played one of his best games of the year. No, he didn't have fancy stats but he fought and put us in a position to win it when a ton of things were going against him. It's the type of QBing Parcell would be proud of.
Matter of fact, yes we lost, but I would argue Dak took a step with this game.

I can't say enough about the penalties are killing us................

My expectation for the year is what it always was, get in the playoffs, win a bunch of games, and collect our SB trophy. Nothing has changed!

You negative nellies that think otherwise need to step off my magic carpet ride and get your heads right. I'm in for a penny, in for a pound!.

I just hope to make the playoffs and we have done that.

As long as McCarthy is unable to discipline the players out of the stupid plays like fumbling on the one yard line when we should have scored face masking penalty at the end of the game giving them the opportunity to beat us with a field goal.
We will not be able to beat good teams without the proper discipline.
I'm not going to get into the fact in this thread that the officials let other teams hold Us so blatantly that the game has almost become unwatchable and call us for the most minuscule infractions committed by our offensive line

I didn’t have any expectations I felt I would just enjoy the ride and see what happens. I predicted 12-5 or 11-6 and were on target for that
I predicted that OL and defense could be our undoing and we’re on target for that as well

We just have a difficult time playing complimentary football on the road and we are dumb as a box of rocks.

Officials don’t always help us out either but that’s far from the reason for our lack of success
The second we went up and I looked at clock I told me son we’re going to lose and we did
I was shocked at us getting in end zone tbh

Lack of balance and penalty issues will bite this team at some point.

Honestly, was the same as last year. A team that should make the playoffs and win 1 game. Then just hope it breaks your way after that.

Still my expectations. Think we’ll win round 1 and lose round 2.

Exactly what we're seeing. Better than the bad teams, worse than the good teams.

Obviously Rico was ailing. We saw too much of Lupke to say otherwise
We saw in last years Super Bowl, when a team takes away their passing game, have to beat them in the ground, that’s what the Chiefs were able to do when the Eagles decided to play coverage
