Oh my..

Thats why you had to play those guys with bad skates as OL and DL.

and we flipped to see who got first choice as to what team you got..

the loser got to receive first..

we had our own neighborhood rules.

You would have to say the rules and the other person got to add a new rule and away we went..

we had some crazy rules..
Yeah. The possibilities with that game were endless! I remember spending Ann hour or two going thru each player to adjust my squad, carefully analyzing which dude side what. He's my sweep guy....he's my straight ahead guy, etc. great times!!!

I got a Troy Aikman jersey when I was about 8 or 9.

Pretty much looked like this (just not as nice)

A simple white t-shirt with a blue #12 on it. It was probably from K-Mart off the rack etc. Pretty sure it was after SB XII so I was 9 at the time.

I reckon it was a DALLAS COWBOYS football helmet Fer' Christmas!
My little brother was a Minnesota Vikings fan(still is) we were just kids 10 or 12( I'm 2 years older than him,,or maybe 4, I forget anymore.)
We would wear our helmets and with a nerf football have grudge match games out along the side of the house that boarded the garden, the row of cedar trees were receivers/ pass rush had to count to 3,,, it was a heap big fun!

I was 7 and it was 1978. My entire Christmas was the Dallas Cowboys. Pajamas. Shoes. Helmet. Coat and shoes. Stocking hat. I got the white Tony Dorsett Jersey and she also bought me that crazy game where you plugged it in and it would vibrate. It came with the Cowboys and Steelers. You would set up all the players and once you turned it on they would go in every direction. Great memories

At age 7 I got a kid's Dallas Cowboys helmet. This was in '72, but I think the helmet was left over from an earlier year. It had an undersized star on it like the first silver helmets from I think about '65 or '66. It also had an old-style doublebar facemask.
I had this same thing.

Got the full uniform, with helmet, circa the late 60s. Jersey #66. Probably out of a Sears & Roebuck catalog.

I also wore out two electric football games. Had 14 teams.
