For me it was a pair of Tony Dorsett Cowboys Pajamas with his number and name on the back ! In 1977 & I was 7 years old ! It was the first gear I ever got and I loved those PJ's I think I even wore them for Halloween for trick or treating lol !

My wife never watched football until we met, now she is a huge cowboy fan. Her first Cowboy Gear was 16 years ago - Plain old cowboys T-Shirt I know boring

My 2 Year old son - Had a Jason Witten jersey Right after birth + Cowboy beanie - was awesome since the jersey was so big on him but he grew into it ! Almost time for a new one for him though oh my lord who do I go with for his new one ?

Share your story guys what's the first Cowboy Gear you got ?

well, technically I have a pic of me as a toddler at Texas Stadium in Cowboys gear......but as for my first memory of actually owning somethin Cowboys related, got a Cowboys bedding set for my 8th Birthday......still had one of the pillowcases up into my late 20's about 5 yrs ago......The favorite thing I ever had as a youth though was my Cowboys "Starter" Jacket in middle school in the late 90's......I miss that thing to this day lol......

Ed Too Tall Jones trading card,,, bought it at a Circle K convenience store in the early 70s, came with some bubble gum. Naturally I treated it with all the care and respect you'd expect from a third grader so, yeah, it's gone.

LOL, I had a full sized replica helmet I managed to get signed by Charles Haley at one of the 90's Training Camps in Austin my dad took me to- GONE....actually it was stolen by an ex, but I coulda easily prevented it.......I still smack myself for lettin that happen....

Back in the mid '70's I got a Cowboy poster when I was a teenager. Not sure what happened to it but I really wish I still had it. Can't find it anywhere now which is frustrating.

At age 7 I got a kid's Dallas Cowboys helmet. This was in '72, but I think the helmet was left over from an earlier year. It had an undersized star on it like the first silver helmets from I think about '65 or '66. It also had an old-style doublebar facemask.

A jacket in the late 70's maybe very early 80's. The one with the silver vinyl sleeves and rough cloth body. Almost every kid had one of the team their parents picked. Just googled them. Apparently Sears sold them exclusively. The Pinterest caption said "Every elementary school boy had one of these. Usually the Cowboys or Stealers" they misspelled Stealers though. ;)
I was around 7.

I love that jacket. http://www.grayflannelsuit.net/blog...ge-nfl-products-from-the-sears-catalog-part-1

I'm sure I had other things before then but my first significant memory would be either my Aikman Jersey otlr my starter jacket.

Around age 9, a t-shirt and a cheap plastic helmet that was way too big. Eventually the decal got beat up as well as the thin plastic helmet cracked...but not from playing football. Some boxes fell on it.
This was in 1968, so everything was made cheap as far as NFL items.

I think my first Cowboys gear was a signed Troy Aikman jersey he gave me in 1993 after my father and I hosted him and Moose Johnston at our house for a charity dinner. It was pretty cool.

Ok that's a total lie....
It was Cowboys curtains when I was 7.

Mine were two JC Penny starter jerseys of Emmitt and Troy, I was in Jr High and I never wanted to wash them cuz the lettering and numbers would flake off :D

Have had a couple authentic jerseys since, but at that time, my parents new I would mess up anything expensive, and that I would wear the hell out of them

The first Cowboy gear I had my mother sew the number 43 on a sweatshirt for me in jr high for Don Perkins.

Back in the 60's don't think you could buy gear. Not until the 70's anyway,

One October afternoon in 1975, I came home from kindergarten to find my bedroom completely transformed by way of Dallas Cowboys bedding and drapes. To this day, those DC items probably rate a close second to my collection of team posters from McDonald's.

Those starter jackets were literally everywhere. In response to the question. I actually had the pleasure of meeting a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader on vacation in Florida as a child. And have her on camera trying to figure out how to focus the lens, pointed directly at her........lets leave it at that. That video counts as gear right? :)
