What will the contracts for Irving and Dlaw look like?

We should be able to keep them together for at least 1 more year on the franchise and rfa contracts. If they both continue to play like this though they'll have to make a decision and hope Charlton is ready to step up.

Yes. We have them both for one more season, guaranteed.

NO WAY Lawrence doesn’t get franchise tagged and Irving doesn’t get the highest possible restricted tender.

The cowboys have enough cap space to do both of those things.

D-Law will get the franchise tag, but Irving as an RFA worries me. Some team will be willing to give up a pick for him and present him with a fat offer sheet.

Hopefully the Cowboys can find a way to lock him up.

I believe the top Tender would mean the cowboys would get a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder if somebody signed him.

A 1st and 3rd? Depending where those picks are, I could live with that.

True. But the Cowboys will enter 2018 with just over $18 million of cap room and franchising Lawrence will eat up almost all of that. A 1st and 3rd tender for Irving will be steep, hopefully, not too steep.

I kinda wish we didn't have Dez's massive contract so that we could easily keep both of these guys on defense. Building up the defense is more important than keeping Dez imo.

I hear ya

I just looked. It seems the 1st and 3rd tender has been done away with. There’s only a 1st round tender.

The 1st round tender cost 3.91 million this season. So I am guessing next year it will be in the low 4’s.

Not too bad.

Although only a first rounder for Irving would be a tough pill to swallow if he keeps this up.

Then again, Dallas will have a chance to match also.

Who cares? They will both get paid. Neither will be in the top 3 salaries at their positions. Romo goes off the books. There’s plenty of money. By the time we have to pay Dak and Zeke, Witten and Dez will be off the books.

Stop...
We will keep both regardless.
Your agenda may not like reality..they usually don’t..but Dezs contract has no bearing on keeping Irving and Lawrence. None.

Take the pick easily.
