What would a new incoming coach feel about Dak Prescott?

This team is missing camaraderie and its purpose. It’s blatantly obvious that DQ helped around here a lot. The team needs a leader of men and a visionary.

Honestly I don't care how much money he's stuffing in his pocket. The fact that he raked Jerry over the coals again is funny to me because I hate Jerry and it made all the people in here that were throwing a parade on the 8th of Sept look like fools...so that's fun.

But the question was about what a new coach would feel like coming in here with Dak. And from that perspective I would say there's a lot of holes to fill and a lot of problems to fix and one of those problems is taking up a large proportion of the pie that would be used to fix the problems.
I mentioned it. A new coach should probably start with "Lord have mercy", when looking at film, business operations, and the talent on the field that is called a TEAM.

DQ doing well in Washington.....has a team rejuvenated after a very long drought. Privileged to a watered-down schedule this year. But as for sustained motivation......GB playoff loss on him too. Are we fixing games to get out?

DQ was a part of that mess that was GB. With one foot out the door…..

Any serious coach or desired coach wouldn’t take the job knowing their success is tied to the player- so I’d say they feel comfortable with him when they or if they accept the job.

When was the last time the Cowboys hired a serious or desired head coach?

Of course it would be the obvious robotic quotes about him "oh he's a great quarterback, he's been great for years, he's a leader, I like what I see in him, and we think he can get us a ring!" To Cowboys fans we don't see that necessarily, but we're not the coach that's being hired either. What do you think they honestly see in the QB they're forced to have lead their team?

Be honest, keep it clean! Please give your thoughts
Considering this FO stuck this franchise with him for at least 3 more years, the HC either has to have the authority to bench him, or the ability to get the best out of him. I think we have already seen Dak's best so in all honesty, a new HC doesnt do anything.

The time to replace the HC was this past off-season. Let Dak play out his deal and let the HC decide. However that is how a normal FO operates. Not this one.

The new coach won’t get hired if he does not have a plan for Dak. Some of you guys seem to not understand that Dak signed an extension in the offseason for $60 million annually for the next four seasons. The new coach is likely to be linked to Dak for his entire Cowboys tenure.

So the guy has to be good with the thought that this may be the last head coaching job I may ever get. Either someone close to or already in semi retirement. Or someone young and not so smart or innovative and just wants a big check and temporary notoriety.

You tell Jerry what he wants to hear about his QB or you don't get the job.

Independent thinkers need not apply. Come on in and tell us how great this roster is.

The Cowboys job is the golden ticket to relevance. If Jerry wanted to give up control, Jerry could get the best football minds in the business in here. Obviously the Joneses will never give up power. My hope is the local fans will stop supporting this team financially and the national fans will stop buying merchandise. Then maybe the Joneses will change.

Fans hated DQ yet we had a top defense and 3 straight 12 win seasons. And DQ will be coaching playoff game or games this year

That only really matters to the FO people with unlimited job security. The coach typically has to think of what’s next if it does not work out. Unless they are much older with plenty of money and a legacy already complete.

For those that think and say no coach will come here to coach under Jerry, you are fooling yourself. Maybe it is another way to vent against him.

There are 32 HC position in the NFL. If one has the chance to take it, if it fits what they want to do. They will take it if offered. PERIOD.
None of this, well Jerry hired this guy, because the others would never work for him.
Another urban legend and myth.
So true......as one writer put it regarding this subject, a lot can happen during one NFL football season. As stated before, I can't think any coach Jerry WANTED and didn't get.

well, any new coach is thinking, how the heck am I going to deal with Jerry. his reputation precedes him in the NFL circles. its not Dak the coach is worried about, its Jerry's meddling.
