Probably nothing.

It will be at least promising if they make a priority and are aggressive to fix the running game and DT. Something they should have done last year. If they "think they are smarter" than everyone else and don't address these positions hard, it will be extra depressing.

Taking playcalling away from MM. Let him go. A new O-Line coach. These penalties need to be cleaned up on Offense.

We need some motion and misdirection in play calling and when you have a run game then use it and not have your QB throw it 45+ times.

Would like to keep Zimmer and give him some of his style players.

Get a RB. Young hard runner and a #2 WR.

I have resigned myself to not following the Cowboys, but rather just following the NFL as a casual fan.
I saw this team beat the Broncos in the Super Bowl not many people can say that I’ve been there every day, but no longer.

It would take a monumental change in the coaching staff.

Between FA and the draft, give me a #2 wr with speed or explosive route running and a RB who is a threat running and receiving, at least a Pollard type.

Add players to every level of the defense.

I think we can compete with anyone. As much as I believe in the importance of running and stopping the run, I don’t think we will compete with the better teams until we have another quality playmaker at WR, if not 2. I don’t want to hear about Tolbert’s stats being okay. The guy is not a starting WR. We must have a #2 who can beat man coverage and separate when teams double Lamb.

You tell me what it would take for you to be excited for the prospects of the 2025 season.

Jerry and Stephen aren't going anywhere. The way this team is structured isn't changing. So I'm asking within this structure, what can the team do this offseason to get you legitimately excited for next season?

If it's coaches, name them. Players in the draft or free agency, name them.

Or maybe there is nothing they can do as long as the leadership doesn't change. Let me know that too.

You have the floor. What do you want the Jerry and Stephen led Cowboys to do?
Jerry stepping down as GM is the only thing that would get me excited,
Or if Jerry hired a tough minded HC and gave him complete authority like with Parcels.
I know neither is likely, lol

I am not optimistic about next season and I don't know that there is anything that could make me optimistic about 2025.

However, there are a few things that would open my eyes to optimism.

This team needs more speed on offense. If you look at the best RB in the game most have breakaway speed. Gibbs in Detroit might be the apex, but Barkley and Henry both have run-away speed.

Draft or sign a quality RB.
Draft or sign a legitimate #2 WR with size and speed.
Sign a top tier DT (I don't know that there are any in free agency this year).
Draft or sign a legitimate edge player to play opposite Micah.
We need a CB to replace Diggs until he gets back, and a LB to replace Overshown until he gets back.

We also need a better backup QB than Rush or Lance.

We also have some free agents of our own to sign. Would love to re-sign Osa Odighizuwa and Jourdan Lewis at least.

I haven't mentioned the OL, but I am hoping that Guyton improves with an offseason of work. Same with Beebe. I am more optimistic about Beebe than Guyton, but maybe Guyton will surprise me.

Qb needs to call out the plays and then grab Guyton facemask and tell him the snap count before walking to the LOS

Lucking out on him dropping or trading up to get Mason Graham. A decent running back and another playmaker.

Ideal offseason for me probably looks something like:

Resign: Osa (for around 15ish per year or he can walk), Lewis, Golston, Goodwin, Anger.

FA: Trey Smith (huge longshot to sign a top FA with our front office but it's what would excite me). I would cut Steele, move Guyton to RT and Tyler Smith to LT. Hoffman/Bass compete for LG.

Baron Browning and a depth off ball LB as well as RB cheap.

Draft: trade 12 and our 3rd to go up for Mason Graham. Nick Emanwori (S South Carolina) in round 2. Move a couple of 5ths to go up in the 4th and catch a falling RB from this deep class.

Coaching: I'd like something like Joe Brady HC and Saleh at D coordinator.

If we look competitive the first half of the season make a move at the deadline for a vet WR.

It's too late. 2025 is already over as quick as I knew 2024 would be over after hearing Jerry's first comments after the season ended. He didn't care then, he doesn't care now.

Hire a disciplinarian like Vrabel as HC
Hire a New dynamic OC -- that understands how to utilize the strengths of this team to attack the weaknesses of the other team.
Hire a New dynamic DC -- maybe Saleh -- that can at least see the strengths of the other team and defend against this teams weaknesses.

Draft DL early and often
Draft a legit Mike within the top 3 rounds
Draft a legit bell cow - even if it is in the later rounds

Draft a QB for competition/development

Then I would at least be optimistic.

Cut Dak and rescind his contract.

Run it back with McCarthy; sign all of our own guys; make Parsons the highest paid player ever and bring back Zeke. If Jerry is comfortable, I am comfortable too.
