What would you want for Romo?

Just out of curiosity since we seem to have a lot of scenarios being tossed around that possible trades (however unlikely) might be happening. I just want to know what all the people who want Romo traded would expect/want at LEAST for Romo. Personally I don't want him to be traded but if AZ called up and offered their 2013 and 2014 firsts I would have a hard time declining. But that would be the least I would take. Not saying we would ever get that call.

Ps I know this is a total "offseason" topic but I'm bored and want to know what the romo hater think he's worth even though they hate him

First, I think this is all just media baiting, based on nothing.

And I love Tony. But, at his age, if someone dangles two firsts, I'd take it. This assumes the QB-hungry team is bad enough that at least one of the firsts is a top-12 or so pick.

I wouldn't trade him unless I absolutely had no other option but if that was the case I would probably want 2 1sts.. and a 6th or something. If not that I would want a 1st and a 4 and a great young player

I don't base my question on anything other than a friendly discussion with another cowboys fan who wants to extend romo and wouldn't trade him for anything. He shot down the idea and I tried to say if Arizona for example offered those two picks I'd take it. He said he would need more. Just wondering what everyone else's opinions on what that would take would be

I wouldn't trade him but if we were hypothetically I would want 2 firsts and a mid round pick.

Two first rounders, ideally. But if the choice is two second rounders or he walks away next year without compensation .... I don't know.

I was thinking the scenario where he doesn't have the intention to extend or wants top 3 money.

I do not want Romo going anywhere either. But, to play along, I would want two first rd picks with one of them in the top 5. If both are mid to late rounders, it would be pointless to make that trade IMO, unless of course they face losing Tony and gaining nothing, then things change.

If this were to happen (it won't), I would work out a way to get Cousins from Wash. I like him better than anyone in this draft and maybe next years too. I am not sold on Johnny Football yet either.

Whatever happens, there better be a good to great QB prospect coming here. I am not sure I can take another era with poor QB play.

We can win with Romo, even win it all. But, he needs to be given the proper tools to do his job. He is asked to do more for this team than any other QB is asked to do on their respective teams. Give him a competent O-line and see what happens.

To finish, this team can not franchise him next season, that will be crippling. Either trade him now (along with Witten and Ware), cut Free, Ratliff and Spencer and rebuild or extend him. I do not want to see a rebuild, this team is a few lineman(Off and Def) away from being serious contenders and Romo is a young 33.

lol at the thought of us getting 2 first round picks for a player that is disdained around the league and is up for another big contract in a year. we'll be lucky to get one first round pick.

couple of years ago i wanted to blow this thing up. now i hope we don't trade him. lets just ride this core into the ground, whatever happens..happens.

I'd take a 1st, a 2nd and a mid rounder. Maybe even a 1st, a 3rd and a mid rounder.

I don't think you offer two first rounders for a guy with 1 year left on his deal unless you do a sign and trade. Hell, I don't think you offer a 1st period unless you know you're gonna have the guy longer than one year and certainly not at 16m for that year.

2 firsts? Seriously?

I'm sorry but there's no other Jerry out there to trade with. I'm not sure you'd get 1 first for a 33 year old who comes up short when it counts.:lmao2:

In all honestly, no one would give us a 1st or 2nd. Romo is not as highly valued outside the Cowboys and its fans. A 3rd rounder is the highest we could get.

Straight up trade for the Sanchize. He was a first round pick and Romo went undrafted so that means we win big time on the value chart.

Trading Romo shouldn't even be a consideration now. There's nobody capable of replacing him in tow. Orton would be crippled in notime with the OL we have in place currently. Trading him should only be a consideration once we have acquired and developed a young QB and an OL that is capable of bigger and better things.

I don't think there is a team in the league that would give two firsts for Romo, so I would throw that out the window. If someone were to offer a first and a third, I would say Dallas did well.
