I like Gibbs, just not in the first round. The only RB I'd even consider in the first is Robinson, but I'm not crazy about that either.

The game has changed. RB is not a first round position anymore. WR, OL, DL, CB, and QB are first rounders, and Dallas isn't taking a QB in round one.

We could improve at WR, OL, DL, or CB in round one, and I'd be happy to do so.

Id take him over Robinson. Thats not a popular opinion here, but there are a few of us
I think Bijan is better, but his running style does not promote longevity, my two cents. Gibbs is a different style back, he is more of a receiving threat than a running threat, Bama did not have much in the WR dept this year and he took up most of the slack out of the backfield.

Feels like a Felix Jones pick
This is not a bad thing, we are picking at 26, I suppose a CB.OL could drop, or one of the TEs would have me pausing. Still, my opinion is to fill our needs in FA and harvest BPA during the draft.

I’m warming up to the idea of Gibb or Robinson. I prefer Robinson as work horse but can’t go wrong with adding proven play makers to this offense. its sorely needed.
Same. But I still think the Cowboys would be best served to do their homework on the RB position in this draft.

reminds me of the fournette/cooks and zion/ja arguments. look forward to seeing how this plays out, and as of right now I don't have a definitive opinion.

Happy. Gibbs is dangerous as hell, and is very versatile. He and Pollard running game would scare the crap out of defenses.

Remember in the playoff game against San Francisco, when the announcer mentioned that the Niners defense was really worried about Pollard but that was it? Well, defenses wouldn’t be able to relax like they did when Elliott replaced Pollard. They’d have to worry on every snap.

If Pollard got hurt, they’d just get more Gibbs… which would be just as worriesome for the defense.

I know Dallas could get a solid runner in the second or third round, but Gibbs is just better. I think he is enough better than the other backs that I’m fine using a late first on him.

I doubt the team does it though.
good stuff. if you were guaranteed to get spears in the 3rd though, which would you rather?

The deal is that this is a bad year for receivers and Gibbs will help in the passing game as well as running.
I actually get really excited at the hypothetical prospect of adding both gibbs and darnell washington and using their flex abilities to really shake ish up

I'd hate it. Positional value aside, how often does MM throw to his running backs? I know Dak doesn't like to. We'd be reaching for a player and then wasting his best attribute, it's a bust pick from day 1.

Everyone says "he's just like Kamara!", and he is, but Kamara's best years came with a QB who targeted halfbacks relentlessly. Drew Brees got LT to 100 catches in San Diego, then threw like 60 balls a year to Reggie Bush, and when the best receiving back he had was Pierre Thomas, he threw a bunch of passes to Pierre Thomas. Adding Kamara had the Saints cooking with gas, but Brees' demand for a receiving RB had been there for 15 years at that point. Kamara just stepped into a well-established, high volume offensive role. Payton and Brees didn't have to change their offense to shoehorn him in, and they didn't just waste his receiving talent and only give him handoffs.

If we drafted Gibbs, we'd just stick him in the Pollard role and give him 10 handoffs and 2 catches a game. Total waste of his talent.

If you want an RB for this team, I'd go for Bijan or Charbonnet, guys that can be plugged into the Zeke role.
I'm really starting to appreciate your analysis

I anticipate him being in the mix at 26. What would your reaction be
Really like him, but if Pollard is in Dallas I doubt they go with him. And the way mm sounds it wouldn't suprise me to see both Pollard and Elliot back.

Yeah Elliot might not be the same, but where do you find another rb that can get you 12 tds in a yr they say you're washed up. If it was easy to do, everybody would have a 12 td guy.

In no way am I saying they should keep him at his salary but what I am saying is I think they're going to try like he'll to work it out rather than just cutting Elliot. This would allow them to draft a rb later, and key in on bigger needs, wr, cb, og. I actually think they're going to sign obj.
