What wrong with Bradin Cooks?

It's not for a lack of being open. For example, if you watch the All-22 on the Schoonmaker near TD, Cooks is wide open on a slant after Lamb clears out the DBs, but Dak is looking to the right at the designed route for Schoonmaker (and frankly with the blitz, Dak doesn't have the time to even try to come back and find Cooks).

I believe somewhere up top could be Jerry, Stephen, Jerry's glasses cleaner, Mike McCarthy, etc. Someone is dictating that Gallup continue to start. Winning is not the goal, more imortant to be right about a player than admit your using them incorrectly and make a change.

The problems seems like a combination of coaching and QB.
I'm seeing a few are insinuating that Cooks must've loss a step but
you don't hear about a speed receiver without a major injury just dropping off this badly after just one year.

- Cooks has had productive 1000 yrd seasons even with backup scrub QBs, and now he is having his worst
career year with these coaches and this QB ?

- Though we are now seeing the ball and targets go to Lamb (especially after he complained) ..TE
Ferguson and even Gallup and Tolbert, ...and even Turpin - but yet Cooks is clearly being phased out.

- Not even using Cooks on jet sweeps- Instead Turpin is getting that call on jet sweeps.
This coaching staff nor the QB seem to believe in Cooks, imo.

- With rookie sensation QB CJ Stroud now on the scene in Houston, Cooks probably regrets the requested
trade to Dallas ??

..when your OL is giving -2 seconds to field the situation.

You better believe, Dak is going for any open guy at the flicker.

Because Dallas has been a 1 WR and TE offense since the Jason Witten, Miles Austin/T.O./ Dez days. These have been the main targets for years now and it's crazy to think Dallas has the creativity to spread the ball around regardless whose the OC.

Cooks was wide open in the EZ on the Schoon drive...I mean wide open. Dak's eyes didn't even look at him, therein lies my issue with him and that changes the game entirely

McCarthy's the problem. That guy can get open. He did everywhere else. Why not here?

Look at the OC.

It's hard to believe he can't get 3 to 5 targets per game, especially from the slot. Come on, man!

He isn’t the first or second option. I don’t think there are many plays for him where he is the primary.

So you want him to scan the field? You're asking a lot for 40 million.
How does the failing of the offensive line come into play with this scanning the field suggestion you made?

Does your Barco-lounger have one of those cup holders which also doubles as an internet port? Maybe the high dollar model with Shiatsu fingers of bliss.

He's not being utilized correctly nor focused. Not just this past game there have been several break downs of him running WIDE open sometimes several times a game when Dak doesn't even look his way. He's put together a solid career even playing with scrub QB's

Can't do much when the ball isn't being thrown his way

McCarthy seemed to be testy in response in his recent press conference when asked about the lack of use of WR Brandin Cooks.
" I don't play fantasy football "

Suggest to me that these coaches simply do not have a clue .. or they are hiding something internally.

But I think one of the two things is gonna happen post season:
1) Either Cooks is gonna ask to be traded ..
2) there will be major changes in the coaches staff to help better the offense which would
accommodate guys like Cooks ( and Pollard)

Methinks if Kellen Moore were still here, Cooks would have had 500 yards and 2 TDs at this mid-season point.
He has the 2 TDs; but lagging behind your other benchmark by two-thirds...only 165 yards on 17 catches (29 targets).

my guess since he has a smaller catch radius, Dak has no clue how to throw to him. Completion percentage only tells you so much about a QB's accuracy.

Bottom line, this just isn't a west coast offense.
Imo Brandin Cooks needs to be on the move, he's running far too many static routes, hitches etc

Noah Brown has more receiving yards than Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup and his QB is a rookie.
The arrows on Cooks was starting to point down last season in Houston. The Cowboys would have been much better off at receiver had they kept Amari and re-signed Cedric Wilson instead of Gallup. I was saying this 2 years ago.

He’s an old shrimpy journeyman. The end comes quickly. There’s a reason why he’s played for every team in the NFL.

I believe the routes are affecting him in some way. There was one play he was wiiiiiiiiideee open on the end zone but Dak Montana Prescott can see stuff most of the times.
