What wrong with Bradin Cooks?

I went back and watched every play. I said Dak played really well last night, but honestly after reviewing the game I’m pretty disappointed. It looked like every other play Cooks was WIIIIIIIIIIIDE open. Sure enough I checked avg yards of separation and while Lamb had 3, COOKS HAD 4.8!!! 2 targets with insane separation. I just don’t get it. It’s like he’s a ghost to Dak. If I’m Cooks I’m really hating this experience
we don’t like facts around here … keep those stats aware from this community ! :lmao:

McCarthy's the problem. That guy can get open. He did everywhere else. Why not here?

Look at the OC.

It's hard to believe he can't get 3 to 5 targets per game, especially from the slot. Come on, man!
That's what I believe too.
It starts with the play caller,.... this is McCarthy's offense now.

I tend to think it's not just the play caller (QB?) but it most certainly starts and the bulk of it is McCarthy.

Hopefully he becomes so sensitive to criticism that he succumbs to finally trying to implement Cooks into
this offense- instead of being content with Brandin being a mere decoy.

- McCarthy got jumped for not scheming to involve Lamb more and he significantly adjusted (after Lamb griped)
- McCarthy seem to open up the offense - to a degree- when he was flamed for being dink -dunk
- He is still getting bashed for the lack of run game - but i'm fretting that cannot be done during the season.

SO NEXT OFF SEASON WHEN WE GET A PLAYER WE BETTER NOT GET ALL HAPPY. We've not yet really sent him deep, TY HILTON got more deep shots than him

Cooks was wide open in the EZ on the Schoon drive...I mean wide open. Dak's eyes didn't even look at him, therein lies my issue with him and that changes the game entirely
People who blame Dak for that have no idea what they're talking about.

They say it like it makes them smart, which is the great irony.

Cooks is not separating. Average separation:

2023: 2.5
2022: 2.9
2021: 3.3
2020: 3.0

2.5 is terrible. Near the bottom of the league. Gallup, of all people, is at 2.6.

lol how don't they know what they're talking about? A quick scan and he sees Cooks is wide open, and I mean wide open. You don't have to be smart to know this, you have to understand that your QB either is unable to scan the field, or was dead set on 1 receiver to throw the ball to. Like I mean Cooks was open in plain sight, wasn't running a sideline pattern or anything

See, you don't know what you're talking about.

That is a 1-read throw because there is a free runner. Dak reads the numbers of the defense pre-snap and when the blitz comes it is an automatic hot read to exactly where he threw it. QBs don't "scan the field" against unblocked blitzers. If he took time to turn right, you'd be saying he was dumb for taking a sack.

1 read throw to a TE who is on the 1 yard line and had a guy over top of him. Any QB who sees this has to take a second read, Dak had time and still tossed, he was not pressured

You're wrong. What are you even talking about? Not pressured? He got drilled immediately after throwing it by an unblocked blitzer.

You people will make up ANYTHING

Cooks was open immediately, he refused to look his way. There are countless videos that showed this. He threw the ball to our TE that was covered. You refuse to see the forest through the trees, go find the videos on here for that play. Clearly Schoon was his target, and clearly he had time to find Cooks but didn't look his way.

Because the pre-snap read is to the side with easier coverage and there is no progression because there is an unblocked blitzer. It's effectively just throwing to a hot route.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Not even in the ballpark of reality.

Booger and Chuckles need to take a CLOSE look at why Cooks "suddenly" sucks before handing over 50 million per to Duck.

Yeah, screw the running game. This is a pass first team, but they should still mix in a lot of play action. They still don't do it enough, IMO.

Pass to get the lead, by 2 scores, and then run to protect it. Until this team get a 10+ point lead, it should be a pass-first offense. But they should still get Pollard the ball, on some screens, sweeps and some option routes out of the backfield...after chipping the End on Steele's side. ;)

I really get concerned about humanity when I see threads like this.

Guys- Daks favorite route has been the hitch or option route his entire career. He feels comfortable when he can see both wr’s numbers and doesn’t have to make any sort of read with that.

If you watch other football teams they do not run the hitch route almost exclusively like we do.

Dak is a **** qb and our coach/front office won’t ask anything more of him. Ever.
