The-great-Jaylon-Smith-was-a-complete-bust,and-we-had-to-wait-patiently-to-conclude-how-much-of-a-bust-he-would-turn-out-to-be.
I-do-like-the-idea-of-focusing-on-this-part-of-the-Defense.

Think instincts!

Think good anticipation linebacker before the play, NOT reaction linebacker after the play starts.

Think Sean Lee prototype!!!!!!

What Height do you want your LB to be for the Cowboys, some are shorter in size 5'11-6'0, or would you prefer a taller LB like the size of LVE about 6'4?

What weight would you want your LB at for the Cowboys, there are some that are 220lbs starting off, may be a little lighter, or do you prefer a bigger thumper type of LB in the range of 240+

What skills must he have to be the LB you want, some are good at just being a run stopper, some excel in stopping the pass, some can do both, some are good at doing it all going from sideline to sideline

Build your own LB for the 2024 Cowboys!!! We need them badly!!!!!
Large and fast with a mean streak.

Yup. Parsons is being woefully underutilized.
And overutilized in the wrong ways. We would have been better off with Parsons on the bench for run downs than at DE. He was a genuine liability relative to the options we had. Both Armstrong and DLaw are good run defenders, and both give a decent rush should the team pass.

It's funny. We're so often wasting our most dynamic players. Felix and Pollard are other examples, though Pollard wasn't dynamic this year.

MLB has to be in the 240 range, minimally because they take on Guards and have to cut through fodder. our saftey playing LB got bowled over in multiple games.
OLBs in the 230-240 range. they need size and speed. would I want a 250 OLB with speed, yes. but Parsons of the world are rare.
our front 7 was ver light this year. with LBs playing in the 210 range. the biggest being 230. and DE (Parsons) who is 250. hankins being the biggest. we were suspect to power run games with teams that decided to play that way. we had no chance.

most importantly, they have to have play recognition. not taking false steps. recognizing play and being able to get to it.

Jaylon was very good for a season or two. Was a very effective blitzer. And this was while he was obviously still not fully healed yet. If he had fully healed, he would have been great.

Instead, his leg regressed, and with it his play.

And he suckered Jerry into an early extension before the regression became obvious the next season. I still suspect that Jaylon knew his knew his knee was regressing, and that's why he signed that "team friendly" early extension.
