Was down in the Phoenix, AZ area this last weekend and I finally ate at a Whataburger for my first time. Damn. I was impressed. Dare I say it could edge out an In-N-Out Burger?? Both are great hamburgers but I can say I liked Whataburgers fries better.

Needless to say, I was fat and happy all weekend with all my choices. :D

They are all over here. I am not a fan of WhataBurger, per say. My Wife loves them, me, I'm just OK with them but I will say that I believe they beat In-N-Out all day long. JMO.

Good idea, it will come in hand because I will definitely need it if I have to eat a Whataburger. So many better burgers around here, it's not even funny. Whataburger wouldn't even make the top ten around here, seriously.

You're a McDonalds guy then I guess? hah

There is fast food burgers and then there are more homemade style burgers. You can't compare the two. While they have the same name, they are two separate beasts.

So for instance. McDonalds quarter pounder should never be compared to say a Smashburger. Smashburger is closer to what you would make at home. (if you didn't buy those thin frozen patties to make a burger anyhow) a quarter pounder is more like a hockey puck.

Used to be a huge Whataburger fan, primarily for their bfast and burger option from 11p to 11a but after they unexpectedly took away the A-1 Thick ‘N Hearty in the DFW area a little over a year ago I banned them. I sent a seething email and got the usual corporate response.

They make such a big deal with billboards, tv commercialis, radio commercials etc when they brought it back I figured I’d at least get some kind of warning when they decided to take it away but no...nothing. In my inebriated state after a concert, my wife driving, I place my usual ~$20 order of mixed bfast and burgers and then they tell me they discontinued the A-1. I was so po’d I left with nothing.

So in the meantime, I decided I would lift the ban when and if they brought back the A-1 and started going to In ‘N Out for my late night post concert drunken food binges instead. The biggest disappointment was the lack of bfast but outside the A-1, I do think I much prefer the In ‘N Out burgers. I get all the different “secret” versions and normally end up with a box o burgers. I will say my wife usually doesn’t participate but a few nights ago, after a hockey game, we went to In ‘N Out and she ordered the flying dutchman (as did I) and after one bite she almost spit it out and was saying how salty it was. She was right, it kinda ruined it for me :(

BTW, Whataburger has brought back the A-1 so I immediately got one a couple months ago but I still kept going to In ‘N Out.

Awesome story, thanks for your time ladies and gents.
