What's Jerry's "Splash" Move for 2014?

I heard he'll be going for a can opener as his splash move at the pool this off-season.

With the (whether trade up or current location) pick of the draft, the Dallas Cowboys select ... Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M.

Beat me to it.....Been doing my mock drafts. And this scenario keeps cropping up. (Manziel slipping) And I hate this idea. What was the point of giving Romo 100 million?

But to make a splash...I can't think of no other....other than releasing Ware/trading up and selecting Anthony Barr

Usally Jerry does something every offseason to gin up the fanbase, motivate season ticket holders to buy,
and give reason for optimism for the upcoming season.
It might be a major coaching change either HC DC or OC. Or sign high profile free Agents.
Or draft a flashy skill position player in the draft.

This year Jerry's options seem limited.

He kept Garrett, and shuffeled his coaching staff with no big changes there except hiring Linham
which I don't think is a big deal.

With being way over the cap, I don't see any bigtime free agents being signed.

And, with the need on the defensive line being such a glaring weakness, I don't see Jerry drafting
any sexy big name skill players early.

So does anyone want to hazard a guess on what Jerry will do?

It's not what he'll do is what he'll say. During training camp he will say something prolly about our new rookie. Comparing him to a former Dallas great of hof'er

Splash move will be not in an addition but rather in a cut made.

Ware will be cut and no matter what you currently think of him that will be a huge move.

In a perfect world, he'd gambal ever thing and move up 10 spots and draft Bortles out of CFU. Then he'd tell Tony that the kid needs to sit on the bench and learn until Tony moves on.
QB is the featured position. We need Bortles for the future.
It's the logical thing to do. And, yes, there will be some cap pain, but we are in pain already from having a QBk who is great in personal stats but keeps us home watching the playoff with other teams contending and us not.

Be ready for something in the draft. Most likely trading up and forfeiting our 2nd round pick.

We have our hands tied when it comes to signing free agents so it won't be there.

Hiring Kiffin/Marinelli and moving to the 4/3 defense.

No..

You obviuosly didnt get the memo..

Halftiimes at all Cowboys will feature Jerrah in a dunk tank dressed in a Bozo costume.

Fans can register onlline and pay 100 dollars per baseball to throw at him.

For an extra 100 dollars per throw, you can have Tony Romo throw them.

I guessing the owner should rake in ten thousand per game...

I know most of us would participate..

Im not sure about using Romo.

Rafael Vela suggests Henry Melton may be on the menu.

In the meantime...

He's four months into a rehab for an ACL tear. He's six weeks removed from being arrested for public intoxication in a Grapevine, Texas bar. Meet Henry Melton, whose down qualities actually make him one of the most desirable free agents for the Cowboys this off-season.

Jerry will draft that Sam kid out of Mizzou.

Jerry loooooves attention.

I think his only intelligent option for a "splash" move is to cut bait and let all the high-priced-no-longer-worth-it old vets go (except Romo of course), they need to get their ledger balanced out and aim for 2-3 years down the road.

If we have our hands tied for signing free agents, we would trade down not up.

If Marinelli wants him, then I think Jerry will sign him. Marinelli will know as much about his character issues as anyone.

The dancing girls on the poles will ditch the pom-poms for tamborines next season..................
