I think 2014 and 2016 made it very clear - as if we need any reminders.

We need DEFENSIVE PRESSURE FROM OUR DE'S!!!!

It's the reason we beat the Lions and it's the reason we lost to the Packers - TWICE!

The offense is set and good enough to get us to the Super Bowl.

The defense is not. We need pass rush if we're going to beat a quarterback like Rodgers or Wilson or even Matt Ryan (which is what the Patriots did).

The secondary did its part, but it can't cover forever. We need a pass rush. The evidence is so overwhelming it should jump out of your computer and sack you if you're not convinced of it.

I wanna see how many people think improving play calling is more important than improving talent.

Are you talking about play calling, as in Linehan or are you talking about in game management/clock management of the hapless Garrett?

For my money we were basically blowing out a lot of teams. So the "garrett affect" was minimal.

Its in close games on the biggest stages against great coaches and great teams that there is a fine line between winning and losing. A fine line where coaching makes the difference. Clock management or in game management. This is where Garrett affects the team and crumbles time and time again.

What good will improving talent do if plays called doesn't take full advantage of that talent? I never want to see Zeke on the sidelines on 3rd and short unless he's injured.

No, no put in Dunbar!!! LOL

Love how all says DL

Yet ye forget the scramble that ended our season.....we pressured, even got horse-collared and he still completed that pass....due to our secondary

I vote DB....and I don't think it's close now with all we've lost in FA

No defensive secondary, not even with Deion, could cover that long.
On that play, we had no outside pass rush. If Randy Gregory is playing, I'm convinced he gets to Rodgers before Rodgers gets that pass off. Gregory has the speed to get to the outside and track QBs down. Unfortunately, he's been up-ended by weed.
The secondary performed well all year for the most part. The defensive line - particularly the pass rush - is what let us down.

Watch that play again....Myo was washed into the DT, it was a stunt twist.....

Nice to see most get what our greatest weakness is.

Too bad the one stab at it from the organization so far is Damontre Moore.

We are not that far off, that is what is upsetting.

Get a Chris Long, Elvis Dumervil or Connor Barwin, I would feel a lot more prepared and comfortable for getting even better in April.

The amount of time you've been watching the Cowboys is commendable yet irrelevant to the point you are making. The loss to GB in the playoffs can not be attributed to only one thing. We all see different aspects of that game that contributed to the Cowboys loss and get the blame. Some, like you say coaching, others say the offense's slow start was to blame and even others blame the fatigued defense at the end of the game... none of us are wrong.

I agree to a point. Every other unit did what it was supposed to do. The offense scored touchdowns. Bailey made a field goal and his extra points. The secondary even intercepted a pass.

The only area that came up short was the pass rush. The two sacks we recorded came on safety and corner blitzes. The defensive line recorded NOT ONE SACK!!!

Yeah, maybe the offense could have scored one more touchdown. Yeah, the secondary could have intercepted one more pass. Yeah, Bailey could have kicked one more field goal. But they did what they were supposed to do.

The pass rush didn't show up. Therefore, it is more to blame.

The pass rush was being man handled and mauled like it was legal... I guess it is when the refs let you get away with it. The pass rush didn't get a sack but it wasn't because of a lack of effort. I don't blame them, I blame the refs on that one.

I disagree. But I don't want to go down that road. I'll just say, it's the playoffs. Another level of intensity, a different style of play. The Cowboys were too nice, especially the defensive line.

What we need is real simple. And it only had required at the time, 1 or 2 players on defense. What we need was to get a player who can go after the QB and than just stick to the running game on offense. WE beat GB easily if Linehan did what i asked, dont get cute. In fact, let me make this easier. want the offense to run better, now you have to take it away from Garrett and Linehan. You just need someone on the side line to say " EE you got this, Dmac, you up , ok Dak, throw the ball that way!". Our offense is effective if both teh coaches stay away from it.

Can we bring Belichick in on that conference call?

Belichick's been accused of outsmarting himself on many occasions.

That said, I think we can all concede he's the best NFL coach in modern history, and probably ever. If our Superbowl aspirations rest on getting Bill Belichick, or with outcoaching him, then we have no realistic Superbowl aspirations.
