Fool's gold? He was widely considered the best cornerback in the draft? You guys and hindsight......boy.....do you guys kick yourselves in the arse after you see the Lottery? "Gosh......I could've won the lottery had I known what those 6 numbers would've been....".

I was against it, read here:

I was under the assumption Garrett was building a football team. Clairborne isn't elite and he wasn't worth our 2nd round pick. This is a huge joke and we as the fans are the ones who suffer the brunt of the joke. We need interior and we went exterior. Clairbore isn't half the player that Peterson was.

He scored less than Vince Young on the Wonderlic. That tells you he is dumb as a rock or just doesn't give a crap. Either way, I don't want that type of player on this team. We need to build inside out, not outside in. Super Bowl teams are build that way. Jerry likes to build outside in. How has that served us lately?

Anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows this was a stupid trade and a terrible draft choice. He doesn't solve half of the problems that other players would have.

Also some good reads in there. People telling me I need to learn to watch football and that he plays CB like WR.

Well props to you. Even though your reasoning for why its a waste of a trade is because of his wonderlic score and not because he's "brittle".

Fact is, this team that year had the worst secondary in the league. They went out and got Brandon Carr and got the best corner in the draft. To you it was a dumb trade. I understand that. But when you have a weakness you attempt to correct it. I would've been more upset if they ignored their need in the secondary.

I'm not convinced he can't play in this league. Now if his body can sustain the play at this level? That's up for discussion.

They had a grade on the player so they did research, he may have been shocked he was drafted, he wasn't interviewed prior to the draft. The point remains it happen and he's here.

And herein may lie the root of the problem. I can only speak for myself. But if I were the GM i would never use my first round draft pick on someone I had not personally interviewed twice or at the very least once.

Is this not the same thing?

If the player is not reliable, it does not matter how talented he is. If the player is not reliable he cannot play in this league.

You still living in Austin?
I'm going to be in town a couple of times during the season.

I'm going to need some friends to watch some games with while I'm there.

You two can watch the games together and piss and moan the whole time. A special bonding time you'll remember forever.

WPB, you and I will just watch and let the player prove a theory out...not marrying him with a theory first.

Hold out Carr and Claiborne until week 1. We need these guys healthy as all hell.

If it was reg season he would be out there, nothing to gain in a pre season workout

Many teams are dealing with 'lack of bodies' in camp. Take a look around. The Pats are dealing with very few TEs available to practice, the Jets with CBs, the Colts with OL, the Stealers with LBs, and the Ravens with CBs. It goes on and on.

Is it the same guys every year, too?!

That'd be weird..................

You guys said the same thing about Terrance Newman....and at 34 or 35...he sure seemed to be pretty healthy last year for the Bengals.....

Yeah. For the BENGALS.

Never mind he always had a nagging something when he was with DALLAS.

I think given past injury they are being overly cautious with him however this does not indicate what he may or may not do on the season.

Well, I don't know about all the players but Pats TE Gronkowski is no stranger to injury. Jets CB Milliner didn't have a good rookie year (maybe some injuries IIRC) and is now out for weeks and might not be available for the opener. The other Jets CB who is injured was injured quite a bit before, forgot his name. I do believe some of the Colts OL have a history of injuries too. Some of it is/may be the same players.

The Pats cut the TE we just picked up. So either he's really really bad, or they have no TE issues.

We stayed put and landed winners like Felix Jones, Mike Jenkins, and Bobby Carpenter as well.

Moved up to get Dez.

Your cherry picked examples are evidence of nothing,

We traded up for Jenkins.

We passed on Brandon Flowers and Tracey Porter, who would have been available had we stayed put.

Well by that definition than the majority of this team can't be relied on. Dez has been hurt. Sean Lee has been hurt. Demarco has been hurt. Romo has been hurt. The whole team has been hurt. But I haven't seen anyone say they can't play in this league because of those injuries.

Yeah. For the BENGALS.

I understand that. Seems like when guys leave Dallas they can all of a sudden get healthy. And if Demarcus Ware plays well and healthy this year? As does Miles? There clearly has to be something wrong with our training staff.

Bunk. I'll remember that one.

I have no desire to look up your post history. But wanting to watch a game with a known pisser and moaner is at least a clue. Birds of a feather . . . . . . . . . . . . ya know.

Oh and the whiny pm you sent sounds pissy and moany.

So, There prob isnt any need to read any specific posts at this point.

Not looking to get into any contest with you. If I misread you or misinterpreted anything please accept my apologies.
