I agree. I think that definately one spot they have to look to upgrade next year. Hopefully one of the guys we drated this year will step up and take that spot away. I might keep BC around if he'll play for the league minimum but any more than that and he can move on.
As smothering as this defense has become, there were several occasions where Carpenter was clearly mismatched on a TE (Celek) let alone when they would send a WR on a crossing or drag route.

I must be missing something because I don't think he's that good in coverage. In fact, I think he is much worse than Burnett was. At least Burnett was faster, a stronger tackler and not nearly as finesse.

Campo has been dialing up a good scheme for the secondary, and its his adjustments to the opposition that has stood out and up.

Against Phillys blazers in Jackson and Macklin, Sensabaugh and Hamlin were playing for the most part over the corners, and left the middle exposed.

That was part of the game plan going in, and Celek and Westbrook were allowed, "calculated" risks, considering that their success would not be enough to change the final outcome.

Cant shut down everything everywhere,,, those days are over in todays NFL, and this was a smart defensive gameplan considering the fire power we have on offense, we should continue to win with these type of prudent decissions.

Let's not kid ourselves here. He fell into that half sack in his typical soft fashion. I can't wait to see what our young LB can do in the offseason.

To Mr Jobberone and his veiled criticism... You can place a stout Safety (possibly Sensebaugh in the current defense) or any other LB with decent cover skills and speed in that same nickel position and harbor zero memories of Barbie. Please don't make it seem as though he is some irreplaceable cog in the defense... He will be gone next year if either of our two young LB prospects steps up. So he should enjoy his last few moments in the best role the coaches could find for our 1st round drafted Nickel LBer...

Thats what I was thinking, Sensabaugh for Carpenter and Ball for Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh is very good in run support, I don't think you would have a dropoff at all.
