So its not Moore? The guy who took Zeke out of the game when he was running all over TB?

Dak had a horrible night. A good OC sees that his QB is playing badly and takes the ball out of his hands and plays to the strength. That night it was Zeke. Not only did he stop running the ball. He put Pollard in the game who wasn't near as effective that night.

Pretty easy to figure out the issue here.
Good.

now we know where we stand

Dak put up record numbers last year. It’s not just luck. I have always argued that he is not an elite QB, but certainly above average and good enough to win with.

Kellen Moore has had enough time, but he never changes.
  1. He calls stupid trick plays at the worst times, and they seldom work, but end drives.
  2. He will NOT run the ball. In a close game where there had been only FGs for much of the game, where the interior OL was struggling with pass pro, where the wideouts couldn’t get open, where Zeke was making good yardage on every carry, where playaction may have helped the pedestrian WRs get open, he still refused to run.
  3. After seeing great things by our TE group in preseason and in the game situations described above, no consistency with 2 TE sets where Shultz and Ferguson could have been a better alternative to garbage wideouts.
I’ve seen Dak play well, so a bad performance doesn’t anger me. I’ve never seen Moore call a game where we ran the ball again and again or where fans weren’t questioning a few stupid calls. If you won’t run the ball in a close, defensive game of FGs when your run game is being successful and it’s obvious receivers can’t get open, even when all off-season the team talked about running and being tougher…..well, it’s time to move on.

Did you know teams adjust in how they defend you when there's more tape to look at?
This!

Bill Parcells came up with a good system that worked with Quincy Carters limited ability in 2003. It worked for the first half of the season. I think Quincy and a few receivers even made the cover of Sports Illustrated that year. Quincy was the man for about 11 weeks.

Once defenses had enough tape and figured it out it was all over. They dropped 3 out of their last 5 games and were destroyed in the wild card game.

Moore's offense has put up buckets of yards and points for multiple seasons... seasons, by the way, in which Dak was the QB and Zeke has been sub-par. So, neither one is a net negative here. Neither is either one of them is "the" problem. And yet, something isn't working. In fact, a lot of things aren't working.

On Sunday, Dak was wildly inaccurate, and when he wasn't inaccurate, he made bad decisions about where to throw the ball. That's on him.
But he also threw decent passes that the receivers just didn't catch. They ran routes that let defenders get to the ball before them. That's on the receivers.
Dak had a good run -- the kind he used to have, before his ankle injury. But other than that, when receivers were covered and there was space for him to run, he just didn't. Is that Dak being scared to run? Trying to just sling it all over the field? Or is he being told to stay in the pocket and throw? We don't know... but we need to find out.
Zeke was running hard and gaining good yards on the ground. Him only getting 10 carries is on Moore.

There is a lot to fix, folks.

Dak hasn't played well the last two games, make no mistake about that, but this is not the first time Kellen/Garrett scheme has been called out. It seems to have really started last year when we play Denver.

I watch a lot of football and just seems like sometimes everything is a grind on offense compared to other teams.

The Cowboys can win games with Dak at QB. Moore does no seem to have a feel for the game, nor does he exploit weaknesses in defenses once he hits on something. He appears to try and outsmart his opponents even when he just needs to sick with what works. If they can't stop you, why are you changing it up? McCarthy needs to filter the play calling or move on and let the Cowboys crash and burn without him.
This 100%.

I get that trick plays work when the defense least expects them. But they were running with impunity on the opening drive. It’s all about risk/reward and the delta reward for when Boy Wonder calls them isn’t on par with the risk. He is completely outclassed against good defenses.

The thing I like most about @Risen Star 's thread is how it brings all members together. The love is everywhere. Everyone gets a warm and fuzzy feeling. Just like a Hatfields & the McCoys reunion!

I may copycat this thread with another poll entitled Is Jerry Jones or Jerry Jones the bigger issue with this football team?

This is just a wild guess on my part BUT I think the final tally could fall either way...

Unfortunately, the one with the bigger issue is also the one harder to get rid of.

Also, the lesser issue had an easier path to improvement. Not that he will, but he still has time to grow and get better.

The QB is very limited his mind is not wired to be a good QB .
He might be smart and great person but being in charge of a team is another level.
