From PFF, these are the top 10 QB vs the blitz.

Dak showed he can beat blitzes, so now defenses are showing blitz, then backing off into his throwing lanes. This is from Sturm.

That's also a throw he's routinely made this season. Coverage was pretty good, but if Williams doesn't have to wait for the ball, it's a completion and a decent gain.

Our 3rd down deficiency the last two weeks is definitely alarming, but a lot of it had to do with the teams we played. I also think the weather played a bigger role in that game this week than people are generally crediting. Both in the cold balls being harder for receivers to catch and in terms of it impacting the QBs' ability to throw. I haven't watched that much Eli this season, but he looked as off as Dak did.

20-30 280- 300 yds 3TDs 0 int

I don't think this offense is built to make it necessary for Dak to have 300 yards and 3 TDs. The stats that matter for him are the interceptions and points. We generally need to be a 20-plus point-per-game team to take the pressure off our defense. He's just got to do his part to keep drives alive so we can score that many.

Isn't that a zone blitz in the gif? Dropped the end and brought the linebacker with the other back showing then backing off?

For the average low IQ beer gut fan, I would say the phony QB win stat. The same stat that gave Joe Flacco a "QB playoff win" with a line of 4-10, 34 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT.

For everyone else, I think the key stat will be completion percentage. That is clearly the stat that sticks out in his bad games.

I'll have to google that flacco line.ha not that I don't believe you. Daks inaccuracy is a long term concern for me..he's gotten away with multiple pics. That eagle game should have been over if that one db knew how to catch on that last drive that hit him between the numbers

The same stat that gave Roethlisberger a "QB Superbowl win" with a line of 9 of 21, 123 yards, 0TD, 2INTs, and passer rating of 22.6

Of course, Roethlisberger thinks the criteria for judging QBs are wins. So a lot of you are in good company.

Get back to making 3rd downs... Run a little more when the lane is there. Make better reads when the WR is wide open..

We've see getting killed on third down. That is the stat that is worrisome.

Sure he's done very well for a Rookie I'm very proud of him. I was all for letting him stay out there this year even after Romo was healthy because we were winning but regardless of his performance I was always bringing Romo back over a Rookie for the playoffs. It's just not fair to Dak to put the Cowboys nations hopes in dreams of a SB on him it's not fair to him or the team. I'm so glad he got this opportunity to evaluate him and overall I am very pleased. I'm sure he has a bright future but right now he needs to take a seat in my humble opinion.

It's not fair to Romo to be sitting either, when he finally has the tools and an OL and OC that understands how the attack a blitz, as well as starting to have input in game planning when for his whole career here he wasn't allowed, though he was constantly expected to bail out the offense in the end with his arm and hurry up..

Pass accuracy and 3rd down percentage improves. Teams are moving him off of his spot in the pocket and his mechanics are breaking down. Passes are all over the place.

That's really my only complaint, but in my mind he needs a full offseason to improve that and is why I think we are better off with Romo. I never understood the 'don't mess with a streak' rationale for leaving Dak in -- Romo is the better QB and minus Romo getting hurt again I don't see why you would leave him on the bench.

Even though only four end up rushing and 7 drop into coverage, technically I guess you could call it a blitz for the reason you mentioned. Not exactly your garden variety blitz for a rookie QB though.

100% agreed. The OLBs staying in for just a moment wrought havoc and he held onto it a second too long. Their defensive gameplan was solid.

What is the stat line that would make me feel better about a rookie that is breaking records left and right? I'm one to allow a learning curve. We are blessed beyond words with this QB and how and why some are wanting more is kinda pathetic. Some in the media have said this is the best pick in the HISTORY OF THE DRAFT, yet
some fans, even after last years debacle, can find something to ***** about. Not me.

I don't care about stat lines.

Caring about stat lines is what got people to believe that yes, honest and for true, Romo was an elite QB like a Brady or Manning.
on your first point, I agree. on your second point, I'm not taking the troll bait

He's actually had 3 bad games in a row. 3 games now under 200 yrs passing with only 3 TDs one in each game. That's just not enough production.

Was he really bad against the Commanders and Vikings? If so, if Dak can win two out of three bad games, it speaks well for his and the Cowboys' future.

Nothing trollish about it.

I get how people revere Romo, but it is not like we have that type of QB just sitting there on the bench. In his prime, he was not like a Brady or Manning. No shame in it, but the longer he is gone, people forget that he was not perfect. And it is unfair to expect him to pop off the bench and save the franchise after a two year layoff and a myriad of injuries.

Zero fumbles by his WRs.

Zeros fall-downs by his WRs that cause INTs.

90% or better catch rate by his WRs when the ball hits their hands.

Zero routes where the WR ran the wrong way, stopped too soon, drifted out of the correct route path, etc..

Zero games where a midget WR looks like the best WR on the team.
