....I know enough to read a person's complete thoughts before I jump to conclusions and make myself look like an *******.

If you had "known better", you would have read my other posts where I have given him the benefit of the doubt, and that he needs to do something this year....his 3rd year.

...but stand high on that pedestal while you fail to share any relevant information or opinions yourself. Very tactful of you.

I will ask where do you base that Stanback looks so bad off of? the reports from practice are that he's showing great hands, and has been varying his speed in routes, I don't know why you guys are being so exasperated that he hasn't put it all together yet

What is the deal with him? When are we going to see some production out of him? He's been groomed for what, nearly 2 years now. Maybe I'm being shallow, but I'd love to see him start making strides. Preferably on the field @ the WR position.

Yes, I expect you're being shallow . . .as well as rashly impatient. He has been hurt and has had to learn a new position. Think that might take a little while longer than usual?

Like I've said....the "reports" have been very positive. I've mentioned that several times. The problem lies in that he hasn't shown it when he's played in games. He's been pretty bad at WR, and had mixed results as a return specialist. I'm basing it on what I've seen. His route running in particular bothers me. His cuts are slow and awkward. He looks very unnatural to me. I just don't see him making the transition.

Hopefully, he's made progress, and he will show us the same thing he's shown training camp bloggers. I'm as anxious to see it as the next guy....but anyone telling me he's been a success to this point is full of it.

and yes, whoever says he's been is a success is full of it, but at the same token, to be exasperated by his lack of progress and wishing him off the team (not you necessarily) is being just as impatient

have faith my man, and remember Ray Sherman is coaching him, that's an advantage right there

I agree. It's not natural to him. That's why I get frustrated with this guy...it's not his fault...but rather that we went for another QB/WR conversion. It reeks of the QB/Pitcher love that this team had not too long ago.

I just don't buy into these things very often, especially at WR. I DO however like the Conner Barwins' of the world.

Sorry, busy at work...

Somewhere along the way Stanback was reported to have run a 4.58 forty, and the ruing ensued. For a while, that number was all the rage on these boards. I think with Sherman as the WR coach, and this being the third year, we'll know somewhere in the middle of TC if Stanback is a flash in Ireland's pan or not.

I like the guy, but he does seem to have a problem with injuries.

I'll throw up. Give me a real WR. Please. No more QB conversions. The odds aren't in your favor. Teams supposedly vying for a Super Bowl shouldn't be keeping experimental WR/QB's on the roster

Stanback is a wasted experiment at this point IMO.
