Reaching how? The Giants schedule is brutal the next month of the season. I didn't see anything from the Giants yesterday that say that they are in complete control because Eli is struggling and they will not get the breaks the Cowboys gave them.

another poster argued with me that because we won 5 straight and the GIants were garbage we were going to win. how did that work out? i understand you dont get it. im fine with that. but when the season is done come back and tell me how bad they were.

I'm not sure I'd call playing Tampa Bay, Washington, and New Orleans a "brutal" schedule.

They are all on the road though. NO is playing for a playoff spot and Brees would shred them. Washington @ home plays everyone tough. Tampa has been scoring a lot of points lately but they give up a lot too. Never know.

this team is just like several other teams in the nfl like the niners lions cowboys eagles rams bears bucs saints Texans titians jags chargers chiefs ravens browns there season is over already time for next year

Cowboys troubles aside, this has been the worst year for the NFL I have seen in a while. The games are bad. Mistakes everywhere. And you can see it in top heavy league. How many teams are undefeated? 7? A few good teams and everyone else is mediocre to garbage. It actually creates an incredible opportunity for the Cowboys. If they can just stay close to 500 when Romo comes back.

Unfortunately Garrett cant coach his way out of a paper bag. Granted its not easy with these horrid QB's but a good coach could eek out a win somehow. And whos fault is it that we have horrid backups? Coach has to be accountable.

There doesn't seem to be any panic on behalf of the coaching staff, they feel comfortable taking time off for field trips.
I suspect that the subset of teams that have lost 4 straight games and have made it into the playoffs is a relatively small one. That was a clown car performance yesterday, a Jason specialty.

When we went 12-4 last year-- JG was the on the rise as a HC in this league. Now that he's losing he's forgotten how to coach? C'mon.

He's lost his three top offensive playmakers from last year, and the result is (shocking I know)-- a lack of offensive identity and continuity. I doubt Garrett was on board with letting Murray walk-- so if you want to criticize the FO for not adding a RB in FA or the draft, for standing pat at WR, then by all means go ahead.

But don't try and sell that JG can't coach. He can. This team will win again, and imo-- they will be in the thick of things the second half of the season. The NFCE will be up and down all season long and will beat each other up. At worst we'll split with Philly and NYG, and we'll have Romo and Dez for both matches vs Washington. Dallas controls its own destiny.

The NYG won 2 SBs ending the season at 9-7. All that matters is how you are playing at the end of the year-- and Dallas can still be a VERY dangerous team down the stretch.

Yeah, and thats the train of thought I was holding on to this season. And it all makes sense and is rational.

But its not going to happen. We arent running the table when Romo gets back......

Were done;

It's one thing to look at our schedule and say that the Cowboys could scrap together 8 wins, but it's another to make the case that 8 wins will be enough to win the division. The Giants are firmly in the drivers seat with games against the Saints, Buccaneers, Commanders, Dolphins, Jets, and Eagles coming up. They might very well wrap up the division with a month left in the regular season to spare.

With the refs and the league on their side, you might be right. But doubt they will have a month to spare.

New Orleans has won two in a row in blow out fashion and will be at home against the Giants. Tampa Bay went up 24-0 on the road. The Dolphins have looked a lot better since they fired their coach. The Jets nearly knocked off the undefeated Pats. The Eagles have owned the Giants the last three years. Fail to see how the Giants win more than two of those games. They aren't a good football team.

Why do so many people think our season is done? We are now 2-1 in the division, our o line looks like it finally got its act together and our running game is where it should be. Thr eagles lost last night, and on top of that lost Jason Peters. So literally right now we have every opportunity to win a couple games, get Romo and Dez back and run the table. Everyone needs to relax, take a breath and be positive.

Yes, until they are mathematically eliminated, I'm going to assume that it's possible for the Cowboys to make the playoffs.

These last 5 weeks have shown you exactly the kind of coaching staff we have.

All we have to do is win a couple of ballgames to have a chance when our superstars get back. What we have seen is a football team that is not mentally ready to play. We all understand how the injuries have had a major impact on this season but the lack of focus and mistakes yesterday especially after coming out of a bye week is really what is disappointing.

I don't think any of the other NFC East teams will really separate themselves any time soon. All of them still play the Patriots and none of them are really that good. At some point though we need to win some ballgames, and if we cant do that while facing the adversity we are facing now with key guys out, then that shows you all you need to know about this coaching staff. Other teams are putting together wins facing similar circumstances.

It's time to hold these coaches accountable.

Playoff odds since 2002 for teams with a 2-4 record-
7%.
That's gloom and doom.

Yep, another stat.....
1990, and I created a thread on this. 3-7, we still had a chance. It falls into your 7% stat, but none the less, we had a chance, but an injury to Aikman derailed it.
Not saying it will happen with this injury ridden team as well as somewhat dysfunctional at times, as they can't play a complete game. But you never know....

1990 season, coming off a 1-15 season
W,L,L,L so 1-3....W,L so at that 2-4 mark, W,L,L,L,L...3-7, W,W,W,W...now at 7-7, Aikman gets injured, and agianst the Eagles of course. We need 1 win to make playoffs, in comes Babe, lousy, L,L

Anyway, I don't have high hopes right now, as they just need to win the next game to show us they are capable of winning. But I am not giving up either.

Giants are a tough run defense. So it was quite a pleasant surprise to see McFadden run so well.

The Giants are the same team that gave Murray his first 100 yard rushing game. They're not that good against the run.

And we will get that win, most fans are in a state of panic there is alot of football left and the rest of the nfc east is no better than us.

Every team in the NFC East is better than this current Cowboys team.
