the only team that i think can beat the cowboys in the nfc is green bay..

their defense is nothing special...just like ours.

it would be like the denver/dallas game last year.

i see no reason why this team can not go all the way.

our o-line is country strong and we have a plethora of weapons.

witten and romo both know this could be their last chance.

Our first objective was accomplished. That's at least a measure of success.

I'd like to see a playoff win or two, but the season indicates we're on a good path, overall. I'm happy with that. Anything after that is gravy this season.

Considering all the holes and injuries we had coming into the season anything over 9-7 was/is a success. We are at phase 2 now...

Just depends on how the season ends. I'm thrilled at the product but expect more at this point. I expect us to win the games we are favored in for starters. I expect them to stay true to the newfound identity too. Lastly, I do not want a philosophy of holding onto a lead but instead, being aggressive to put teams away.

this has been a great season so far, better then I could have hoped for. now that the cowboys have made the playoffs and have a home game it would be a disappointment if they did not win a playoff game anything after that is what was said above gravy.

It has already been a good season. Anything else is gravy.

Of course a certain group of "fans" will turn any playoff loss into a reason for a Garrett lynch mob.
That would be a foolish thing to do imo. I am usually optomistic and I had us going anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. At 11-4 / 11-5 / 12-4 I am extremely happy even if we are one and done.

I suspect we will lose a close one to Seattle in the NFCC. We would win this game if we had a JPP type of player on a couple of crucial 3 and mediums throughout the game.

I need at least one playoff win for this season to really be a success. It's a step in the right direction, but it's not a true success without some postseason success.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I really don't care.

It would be nice to sit here and pretend this is not an accomplishment.

The real key is what happens going forward.

My "threshold" is winning a playoff game to show real progress.

If not, we have a bunch of unanswered questions.

So you complain about a team not making the playoffs after 3 win and in seasons and when they do make the playoffs it isn't progress?

Got it, just keep moving the bar. We all know that if they win that first game so many of you will be saying yeah but they need to do it on the road in the playoffs to really show us. After they win that one it will be the Super Bowl as proof. Get there and they will need to win it to really show you they are different. And with Garrett holding # 6 you guys will be praising Linehan and Marinelli saying they won it in spite of Jason and Jerry.

This season has already exceeded everyone's expectations.

We are the 4th youngest team in football.

Assuming 90 and 98 keep improving (which they will), we are a stud pass rusher at LDE spot (Nate Orchard/Preston Smith) away from being a serious Super Bowl contender. And I don't mean just once.

This is all wavy gravy for me now.I said at the first of the year back to 8&8 maybe 9/7
so this is house money. I'm waving at the crowd and throwing Mardi Gras beads.

It's next year Iam planning on and have for a while Marinelli [His Cultness} sped up
things considerably .We have a good chance to win some games, we're viable.

For me, realistic or not, it's Super Bowl or bust.

I'm 27 years old and was too young to really remember and appreciate the glory days of the 90s. I can remember it, but I wasn't really a fan. I became a fan in the early 2000s and haven't experienced this team have any success past the divisional round of the playoffs and that's only been twice.

I want to see our team win a championship, even if it means another 19 years goes by without another. I SHOULD be happy with a deep playoff run, but a loss in the NFC Championship or Super Bowl ultimately means nothing...

I want to see Romo, Garrett, Jerruh, Dez, and everyone else hoist that Lombardi trophy and I'll be upset if this season ends with anything other than that.

The only way I'd be ok with a one and done is if we lose a shootout. Like 38-35.

I could live with that type of loss since I think we all understand the defense is lacking in talent, especially the DL.

If the offense lays an egg though, a one and done would be demoralizing.

Wow!

Anything less than a Super Bowl is a bust!

This team has underachieved for so long.

Win it all. No one remembers a nice season or Super Bowl loser.

I guess 20 years of losing makes you think that making playoffs and winning a game or two is a successful season

No way! Like Troy said, anything less than a Super Bowl win was a failed season

Your concentration on what other fans think over what you think is always refreshing.

There is a group of fans that never miss an opportunity to call out what other fans think and feel as the foundation for their posting tenets.

I see two posts of yours in this thread and both involve a form of chastising others. It must truly be pitiful not being able to enjoy your Cowboy experience as you wait for the other shoe to drop.

As for me, I believe this season has been a success as it stands.

The play-offs are the second season for me and a new set of expectations. Surely what I've seen thus far will color that opinion once I see the final play-off seeding.

However, from a strictly emotional standpoint, I believe Dallas is the team no one wants to play right now. Maybe right behind Seattle.
