It was third and one early in the game. They call a freakin time out.

Then.....wait for it....like the sun rising......FLAG!!!! Offsides and facing third and six with a wasted time out. Watched Open Range for the fifth time. Never looked back.

FTR - I don't reschedule picking up dog crap in my backyard to catch the game anymore. It really piles up.

I never turn a game off. As Forrest Gump's momma would say "you never know what your gonna get". Just from watching Dallas and the Mets over the years, I have seen about 50 new ways to lose a ballgame. FWIW, the Mets lead that category :(

I kept watching, sitting on the edge of my seat wondering if the Aints were going to get their 40th 1st down and break the all-time record. :(

It was before the first half was completed...and I noticed a strange sensation coming over me.

I began to root for the imminent loss to turn into a train wreck...and then I wanted yet more devastation... a Fukishima football core meltdown. The game didn't disappoint. But by the end I wasn't watching as a Cowboys fan.

Throughout the second half I was a fascinated storm chaser, wanting to see things get torn up. I felt no loyalty nor loss....Maybe only a strange gratification as if I'd permitted leeches to chew on me for a vigorous bloodletting.

I was hoping for 8 more yards passing just to add fuel to the fire. Has to hit rock bottom before it gets better, right? I keep telling myself that anyways

I was hoping for that too. The second half was pure failure porn. It was epically hilarious.

I watched all of it but wasnt angry at all. In the prediction thread, I had the Saints winning 48-20. I went into this game fully expecting a blowout. What I didnt follow up with however, was the post game interviews.
I cant take Romo, Witten, Carr and a few others using the old:

- we gotta get better
- we need to do a better job
- this was not acceptable
- we battled
- gotta keep working.

they talk like its week #2 of the pre season. Thats where I gave up....just prior to hearing these cliches.

Yes I wanted the one additional pass for the 8 elusive yards. But while wishing for that the Saints reeled off another 100 yards rushing.

17yearsandcounting, I love your term for it: "failureporn"

I agree with you 100%. Its hard to say it here though as the pom-pom shakers usually just respond with "why dont you go root for another team?". I am with you all the way with having to hit rock bottom. And 6-10 or 7-9 is not rock bottom. In Jerry's warped mind, thats about 5 plays away from being 12-4.

Beyond rock bottom. Have to reach UP to touch the ground.

Uh halftime, when they give up 3 touchdowns in about 5 minutes I knew where the game was headed...It's been a while since I felt anger/disappointment etc....i'm just numb....I got on tumblr and never looked backed and saw the final score on the internet.....49-17 with news of a defense so horrible of biblical proportions...

Watched until the end but then I need to. Got disgusted early on though. Jumped up out of my chair multiple times and stormed off in disgust actually. I do remember yelling TD early on.
