When do we get our QB?

Bringing in a rookie would give Bledsoe just a little concern thus messing with his play on the field. We need Bledsoe to focus in on the offense, and not worry about his job since BP wants to win now.

That's just it. As long as BP is here, Bledsoe wouldn't have to worry about his job. But bringing in a young QB would help us have someone ready to take over, hopefully, when BP/Bledsoe leave.
The only problem is that we won't be in range of Leinart/Young, so that would only leave Cutler. But I know it doesn't matter anyway because BP won't use a 1st round pick on a QB who won't see the field immediately, especially since BP only has 1 or 2 years left.

Bill is sabotaging our future in the futile attempt to win now.

You are so right on this. We have a young defense right now that will get younger after the draft.

If we brought in a franchise QB (hopefully franchise worthy) and a stud WR, by year 3 we could be competing for the super bowl. Our Defense would be right there in their prime, thus giving us a chance at dynasty level.

He doesn't have to play the guy for 2 years, but BP doesn't want every time Bledsoe F's up, the entire fan base would be calling for the youngster. BP hates that.

Aaron Rogers is not and never will be a franchise QB and if Cutler slides to 18 he won't be either.

So if cutler doesnt slide to 18 he will become a franchise QB?

He may be short-sighted (which we should all understand) but the bottom line is, if we don't treat the O-line right now, we'd ruin a high-draft QB. Take a look at Buffalo. They should have shored up the O-line before throwing Losman to the wolves.

I think that's a primary reason BP demoted Henson to #3. Now, I don't think we could win now with Henson or Romo, but with Romo at #2 there would be alot less outcry to pull Bledsoe if he stunk it up.

True, we do need a major OL upgrade. But, Bledsoe is only a short time solution. I seriously don't think Romo or Henson will be the answer once he leaves. So it would make sense to have a legitimate viable replacement ready once Bledsoe does leave, unless we want to keep throwing stopgaps at the problem every 2-3 years.

Wait till next year, and s3ee if we can make a move to get Brady Quinn, who was by far hands down the best QB this past college season.

Do not want Lienart, I Norm Chow will push hard for the Titans to draft him. Other than Lienart, maybe Drew Stanton, from Michigan St.?

There are not any good QBs coming out this draft, all of them have flaws some with major flaws.
I would rather wait till next season's draft, or make a trade or free agency this season.

Brady Quinn will be the first player taken. It would take all of our draft picks to get him and more. What's wrong with Jacobs. He'll be available to us at 18 or maybe even the second round. He makes good decisions, is accurate, is mobile and is 6'4" and 225 lbs and played lights out against OU and Wisconsin. What more do you want?

I don't think they plan on Romo being the future at all. I just think they refused to trade him because Parcells is scared to death of having to play Henson if Bledsoe goes down.

I would look for us to draft a QB next year to sit behind Bledsoe for a season as KingTuna suggests.

I was listening to "The Lunch Hour" on DC Radio today, and this exact subject was brought up. Nick Eatman said point blank that it is no secret at The Ranch that Parcells really likes Romo and thinks he can be a player in the league.

That thought has entered my head too. But we do know that he likes Romo too.

The thing is, no matter what his plan is with these 2 QBs, I don't trust Parcells QB judgement like I do his RB judgement. Beside drafting and going with Bledsoe in New England, he initially picked Scott Brunner over Phil Simms. He went with Testaverde in NY (an average 75.2 career rated qb with 261 career ints and losses everywhere in the nfl besides a season or two). That's not a track record like his RB evaluation has been.

If he's got the mental makeup to turn into a franchise QB, he'll go in the top 10-12. His situation was completely different from Brady and besides, if he was here everybody would hate him and his "weak arm" anyway.

How about none of the above choice, you dont have to get a QB in the first round.

Move up and get Vince Young, that would be my one great move in the draft.
Extremely risky move. Young may not be the franchise QB you are looking for. If he doesn't work out, then look at all you lost to get him.

we need one that can scramble from time to time as well as pass from the pocket.

I want Quinn

Count me in as one that would be shocked if BP/JJ drafted a QB this draft. I just don't see anything changing ref. the QB situation until BP leaves.

In 2007, however, I think we take a QB as early as we can.....we'll need to. Shoot, we needed to LONG ago.

I just don't see the catagory on this poll that I would pick. That would be:

X. Year Before Last When We Traded For Henson.

He's still an option after all. I'm not giving up on him just because he couldn't take the starting job from a Top Ten All Time Veteran who happens to also be a "Parcells' Guy". And this right after he had just had his mechanics reworked and was just getting comfortable. Plus I also believe that Romo can do it but I think he will go with Payton wherever (and Whenever) he ends up as HC.

BTW for those who keep saying that it was just Henson's arm motion; I'd like to point out that they also shortened his throwing stride. He used to take a long overstated stride like a baseball throw. That stride by stretching his legs farther apart brought his upper body lower to the ground. It took extra time and had as much to do with his throws coming out low as did his sidearm (3/4 arm...whatever) delivery. If he has kept his new mechanics and worked into them and if he is as smart as they say then we already have our QB of the Future.
