I expect the worse, so I'm already over it when they lose. It makes a win that much more enjoyable.

It's not worth it anymore. The players don't seem to be bothered by it, so why should I.

I've got another 30 on you , plus a few. Have seen the great, the ugly, and now the water tread years.......

Thats the case where there is a swimming competition, and some are way out ahead, others can't swim at all, and quit, and the rest just stay in the middle , they look like they are progressing but in the end finish in the middle of the pack creating an illusion they can actually place at some point.

After a while you learn not to get to up or down.

If they win, cool, there is a possibility they can lose next week, so I'll enjoy the win a little, but won't celebrate

If they lose, oh well, not like I haven't seen this movie before, and I still have a life to live.

That's the mentality you have to have.

The only time nowadays I'll let it sting longer than an hr, is if maybe it's a loss for a playoff spot or in the playoffs.

i need to get like this man. i still get too upset about these losses.

Hey moneybill
been a fan since 64 I agree and I saw every home game from 65 til 71 for a buck at the cotton bowl, those times can never be duplicated nor forgotten. The thrill I experienced from destiny's darlings which is where America"s team was derived from will always be ours and the teams of the 90's were ok ,but not like our many struggles to the top 65-72.calvin hill don Meredith dan reeves, you know the drill. We innovated were pace setters unlike now.. we can only hope our time rolls around again.

I've been defeated a long time.

Since the moment I watched the team quit at home against Jacksonville in 2010 it has not been the same for me.

For me it was the Green Bay game that year. 06-09 I was a maniac b/c i really believed a super bowl on the horizon. It's sad to see the fanbase like this. and yes, you are correct. there are good number of broncos fans in dallas and there are many rich ones in colorado that will travel. wouldn't be surprised to see 10-15k on sunday. that's whats so damn frustrating about this team. they had an opportunity to setup a heavyweight fight, a chance for a packed house of rabid rejuvenated Cowboys fans for this game, yet they let us down again. it never changes with this bunch. the constant body blows they've delivered to us over the years has sapped this fanbase's (especially locally) passion.

been devout since 1975.. i was 8

remember being mad going to elementary school after the loss to the steelers in the superbowl.
even madder after the second loss in 79

the 78 win against denver was very special.

we were very good up till 1985 ..but i was a mess if we lost for a week.

i remember being close to tears after the loss to the dolphins in 84 when i knew we would not be in the post season.... and the "the catch" game.

the early 90's were sweet.

i'm 46 now...the era of free agency and having to put up with goodell , jerry jones, commercials, rule changes, stupid playcalling, piss poor draft picks, parcells switching to 3-4,wearing pink, etc,,etc has got me to the point where i'm over a loss almost immediately.

i will admit though... the loss to the giants in the division playoff at home haunted me for a couple days.

i thought we were superbowl bound that year.

I was in the 5th grade when the cowboys lost the ice bowl. I cried myself to sleep that night. The next day at school there was a boy that was a Bart Starr fan giving everyone the business . I walked up to him and punched him right in the nose. Got sent home from school that day.
I'm so thankful I got to see that team get over the top. Lived right thru the glory years and the boys will always be my team.
Now days I don't get upset enough to punch anyone, when they give me the business.... What could I really say to them. We just aren't good enough and Jerry turns my stomach .
As long as fans buy the hype, Jerry will not change his way of doing business.

I remember most all of em from the early days. I think that was the 79 team with hacksaw and jack Youngblood. It was their turn tho, we had beaten them three times in the playoffs before that. Good memories

Okay guys, this is a serious question.

After a loss, when have you fully recovered from it? Using myself as an example..
after this game...
I skipped dinner
shut off my cell phone
and have shut sat here miserable.

Tomorrow:
people know enough not to talk to me at all until I speak first.
wont eat breakfast or lunch.

And then by tomorrow evening, I will eat a good dinner and get ready for Monday Night Football and will become less agitated. Then, by Tuesday AM, things will be back to normal....accepting the fact that my football team is a .500 team.

How long will it take you to get over this loss?

I stopped allowing the Cowboys to effect my behavior/mood about about 14 years ago. Why bother? There are so many more important things in life.

I am over it before the game ends. Watching Dallas for the last 15 years has lowered my expectations tremendously. I am numb to the losses.

I was expecting either 7-9 or 8-8. OL and DL are the weak links of the team. Hopefully, Jerry will do a better job addressing next off season. It will take a couple years for Kiffen and Marinelli to get his type of players in the Tampa 2 defensive scheme.

LOLOLOL THIS WAS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST POSTS EVER.!!!

I used to pout at everyone around me, now I just do it on here. I've been in a bad mood over the Cowboys for 18 years.

Sounds about like me, I guess I have somewhat gotten used to the losing and the up and down inconsistancy.

The Dallas Stars open up their season tomorrow; I'm excited for that.

As far as losses, it usually takes me about 5 mins. Sure, I get mad, but there is really no point letting something I can't control ruin my day.

Wow, I just got finished reading all 5 pages of this post, and boy was/is it depressing !
I remember when the Cowboys were the most relavant team in the NFL.
How the mighty have fallen.
Very sad times here indeed.

I took the games a lot more seriously in my early 20s. Once I hit my late 20's and into my 30's, I just stopped letting it bother me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still in a good mood all week when we win, but when we lose, I just kind of shrug it off. Getting pissy at my friends, family and colleagues just seems kind of juvenile now.

Well, I get over it after all of my Cowboy hating friends rub my nose in it. It helps when I can say things like "When your franchise has 5 rings and are out of diapers, we can have this conversation." Then I can give them the ole' Jason Seagal "It's the only argument I neeeeeed!!!"

Back in the mid 90's when the Cowboys where a dominate force, it literally took me days to get over loses. It was almost unhealthy. Now, Jerry Jones has reprogrammed me to accept the mediocrity that is the Dallas Cowboys. I get over the loss within minutes of the end of the game.

I also do not get as excited before the games as I used to. I used to get so nervous and anxious leading up to the games. I would pace the house waiting for the game to start. Now......I turn the TV or computer on at game time and kind of just watch it. I don't get too excited and I don't get too upset.

I really really miss the passion I used to have for the NFL and the Cowboys.
