When does Hardy become an option?

People assume that teams aren't interested or pursuing Hardy behind the scenes. He maybe is wanting a longer deal right now and teams are waiting to see how the reaction is going to be.

But this info likely came from Drew Rosenhaus so take it with a grain of salt.

I'm saying it won't happen now because other teams want him. *** are you talking about? I want hardy back.

You just said "He is not an option" as if you are one of those know it all, "Give it up Guys bc he isnt coming here!" kind of people and if you aren't, my bad, didn't mean to take a shot at you, just cant stand those type of people.

What's to acknowledge? Of course we all saw it. A player lost his stack on the field when the STs had a major gaffe. It was embarrassing for him. The team handled it the right way in the aftermath, and they moved on. What did you expect to see?

Jason taking charge of a bad situation, which he instead cowered away from.

I think no matter what else is happening, the Cowboys and others are waiting on Hardy's team to see he doesn't have big offers sitting out there. I've thought for a long time that a one year incentive deal (again) makes the most sense for both sides, at this point Dallas needs to wait for the market to set.

It does mention two sources. Remember, Hardy is a little unusual and he's currently spending his time getting his degree. He doesn't seem to be worried based on lack of information put there and nobody has anything on him about his agent pursuing opportunities vigorously.

I'm saying he's not an option so ya I guess I am that guy. Lol if theres multiple suitors Dallas will be outbid.

It's absolutely clear teams were game-planning to avoid Hardy as even Sturm pointed out when analyzing the tape. Teams are clearly going to be interested in a guy they worry about when game-planning, no matter how much people claim otherwise.

As somebody mentioned, Aqil Talib is basically like a guy playing on parole and he's playing for multiple teams.

And we are talking about an elite DE, who took a year off and was forced to sit half a season, and was playing a little banged up in a conservative, garbage scheme. While being an under-sized defensive front that constantly wore out in games. And Marinelli tried to compensate for la k of real push in the middle by moving Hardy to play DT a lot.

And With no threat on offense and an offense that turned the ball over regularly, putting pressure on the defense.

Broaddus and Eatman from DC.com both said that Hardy was very close to being cut last year before
the season ended. Take it for what you will...but, no Hardy is what I'm reading and hearing.

So why didn't they just cut him? The season was over. That is the best way to send a message. Not let him fester on the roster to corrupt all the young and impressionable. Sorry but letting him fade away in free agency does not carry the same effect.

Basically, like many assumed, Dallas probably bore the public stigma and another team will get the benefits of a Hardy not surrounded by the drama, as many on here feared..

I understand what you are hearing and reading.
I've tweeted Fish directly that he's wrong to be firm in that stance... and now he apparently isn't.

Whatever was close to happening last year, didn't.
And sitting on 4 wins and with a guy making large bonus pay each week, why not??

Either someone wanted it to happen but was powerless or some other factor kept it from occurring or the story is a fantasy.

As I stated, take it as you will. I only repeated what I've heard from many multiple sources. Jerry, Stephen and Garrett have danced
around Hardy since the end of the season. They spoken directly about who they wanted to bring back and they have and are doing that. The only
references by the 3 to Hardy is that he is a "Free Agent". What they don't say is speaking volumes so take it as you will.

Completely agree.

I seriously hope we resign Hardy, with the addition of Thornton in the middle. And we go QB at #4. If we really think we are going to compete next year based on the roster we have, then there is no reason these clowns in the FO should not draft a QB to eventually replace Romo...

The sad thing is, I don't think many, if any teams, would take the Hardy baggage.

Always said we would be bidding against ourselves if they decided to explore bringing him back.

Now Rosenhaus can take one look at the massive hole on the roster and smirk.

Aikman was the guy that mattered.
Jerry has spoken on this many times. (and has Aikman who kinda smiles and laughs it off as if he didn't have all the power)
Jerry says firing Chan that quickly was one of his biggest mistakes.
He felt that team was past it's window and he fired Chan then lost Aikman anyway and had no replacement ready to go.

Oh, I don't doubt that Aikman did at all. He wasn't exactly silent about his issues with Gailey and the offense.

I didn't think that Gailey was a great hire by any means, but Jones definitely didn't do him right in that scenario. Aikman doesn't come off well here either.

Honestly, Aikman was a spoiled child just like Marino was. Not a true negative, the great ones want to win and also know themselves and what they can do, especially when things start getting worn down.

But he was hardly of the Romo ilk, who sits back and lets his career slip into twilight and continues to be a company man.

No market for him right now.

I don't want him back really BUT there will be a time that the value become too attractive.

What if he's base salary is $1 million and hard to reach incentives up to $5-10 million. To me that maybe too good to pass up.

What's YOUR threshold to take him back?

Mine is now IF he is ready to behave himself.

Jason taking charge of a bad situation, which he instead cowered away from.

Ah! He should have taken charge. Now I see. And not cowered. Because that's what NFL coaches do when emotional players get heated on the sidelines after big plays in games. "Settle down, Dez! I'm taking charge over here! Nevermind that my offense is on the field, there's a player upset on the sidelines, I'm going to use a timeout and go over there and read him the riot act so people see how not afraid of my own players I am!"

Yeah, you're right. That's how most coaches handle volatile situations: pouring fuel on a fire. Instead of, you know, handling it internally like they did the rest of the discipline for Hardy all season.
