When does Hardy become an option?

$1 million for 6
Regular season those so called issues won't mean much when teams need a DE.
yeah, FA slim pickings now...... in another week $1 million and incentive contracts for 6-10 sacks will look pretty attractive.

Teams needed a DE last year when he was available pass rushers are coveted by everyone and only about 7 teams showed interest. Few teams need a DE like the Cowboys and if they don't want anything to do with him few if any teams will. He's a distraction and if you're a playoff team a player with Hardy's reputation could fracture team chemistry.

That's because of his domestic violence problems teams stayed way but Dallas. Regular season teams will overlook the so called distraction.

I'm just saying that Irvin had issues, Haley had issues etc....Difference is Johnson had a backbone Garrett is a weeping willow tree...I don't like Hardy but he is about the last option
Agreed. Huge ******

But he really exposed Jason for the weak figurehead that he is. A coach who is afraid and unable, to stand up to a player on the field or in the locker room (according to reports).

Where do you guys get these weird takes on Jason Garrett from? No reports anywhere remotely suggest Jason has issues standing up to his players. And if he wants a guy gone, they go.

Everyone has been better without Hardy. The Cowboys went 12-4 without him and Carolina just had their best season in franchise history without him.

Cowboys going 12 and 4 had nothing to do with Hardy not being here.

If the 2014 team even had the lousy second half version of Hardy instead of George Selvie they would have won the Super Bowl. Selvie started 13 games and finished the year with 23 tackles and 3 sacks. Even in the second half when he was allegedly loafing (and probably was) Hardy still commanded double teams.

The Cowboys going 4-12 may have had something to do with Hardy being here. We were much better without him than with him. Do you think Carolina is regretting releasing him? I'm certainly not saying it was Hardy who caused us to go 4-12 that disaster was mostly a result of losing Romo but Hardy was far from a model citizen and Mincey's claim that he created tension in the locker room is not conducive to team chemistry which is an important ingredient to having a successful season.

We were better with him. He brought double teams. No one else on the DL did that.

You think so? I think there's a lot to that idea. One person in a leadership position can easily change the work ethic of a position group.

There aren't that many guys on a defensive roster, and the ones with the biggest earning potential carry a lot of weight.

you just scolded people for making things up about Garrett and here you are jumping into the sewing circle to blame the 4-12 season on Hardy messing with the fragile locker room ecosystem

The domestic violent problems will continue to keep teams away especially after the photo's surfaced of the damage Hardy allegedly did to his girlfriend. The Cowboys may not have signed him had they seen those pictures and the commentary that followed. Jerry has always been known to take a chance on a problem player when he thinks he has a championship team. He took a chance on Haley in 92 when he knew he had a team that was on the brink and it paid off. He took a chance on Pacman Jones in 08 when everyone seemed to think that would be the Cowboys year. After that season went down the drain with Pacman doing little he was released along with TO another problem player Jerry took a chance on. Neither was worth the headache if the wins aren't coming.

With Jerry thinking he had a SB contender heading into 2015 knowing that it was the lack of a pass rush on Aaron Rodgers that got the Cowboys knocked off in the playoffs in 2014 he gambled on Hardy and risked the backlash signing him would bring. The signing didn't come close to paying off and with the problems Hardy created he's done in Dallas. Some team is bound to sign him once Hardy sees he has no market and has to settle for a low offer. It's going to have to be a good team with a strong head coach and Hardy will likely have to sign a similar one year low risk deal like the Cowboys offered him. He's dreaming if he thinks he's going to get a long-term deal with a lot of guaranteed money that's not happening.

Not at all. I said it was possible he had that kind of effect in the locker room. I didn't say he did.

But I don't think it's silly to suggest he might have. He's too good a player at too big a position of need for us to not want him back if there's not a reason for it.

After going 4-12 you're going to have a tough time convincing anyone we were better with him. If we were better with him the Cowboys would keep him and probably already have him locked up.

Nothing silly about those comments having a player who's a distraction and who has a negative affect on a locker room can negatively affect a teams season. The defense was no better with Hardy we continued to see the same issues we've been seeing defensively for years. Ware got ripped by many here for having 6 sacks due to playing with an injury for most of the 2013 season.

He was being criticized for some of the double digit sack seasons he had that didn't lead to many wins but many of the people who knocked Ware and were ready to dump him are touting Hardy as a player we need. We don't need the distraction he brings and the possible issues he could cause next season. If he can't show up on time for meetings and some of his own teammates don't like him as well as a lot of fans he needs to go.

His teammates loved him in CAR
Only person to speak out in DAL was the guy who lost his job to Hardy

Epic fail

What does his teammates loving him in Carolina have to do with how his teammates in Dallas feel about him? His teammates may have loved him in Carolina until he got charged with domestic violence which I'm sure changed how some felt about him. It certainly changed how the Panthers owner felt about him who cut Hardy. It changed how a lot of teams felt about him because only 7 teams considered him. The only one who's failing is you!
