Not a fan of the Reagor pick but don’t have as big an issue with that as his others,

Hurts is a waste of a pick. He’s not developed enough s a passer to be a true back-up and he’s not worth a 2 for a gadget package.

At best you create a QB controversy
At worst you waste a 2.

They justify it by saying they want to develop and flip QB’s. That’s dumb, you are losing 2-3 years of another player starting and contributing while waiting for the QB to develop.

There was zero value in the Hurts pick when Mims, Epeneza, etc were there.

And then they pick another project in the 3rd.

So first 3 rounds and they’ve gotten one guy they can count on being ready to start. Worst draft in the NFL so far.
Welcome to cowboys 2019 draft lol

Exactly what he was able to do with cobb and adams was really creative.
Yea, no more vanilla hand the ball off on 3rd and long and then punt. Modern day NFL offenses operate in the mindset that there is no yardage that is too far. We have been operating on the 90s mindset of just lining up and overpowering your opponent, which only works if you have superior talent literally at every position, which is impossible in today’s NFL

I was going to make a post asking if the forum would rather beat Philly and win the East or have CeeDee Lamb.

Garrett probably keeps his job too.
I’d rather beat Philly. And then move up to get cd lamb. The Corner back was supposedly are first round pick. Who wouldn’t believe the CD was there. Great draft so far

Easy to say it now. I wasn't happy at the time, but after giving it some thought, I like many of you were like "how far would Dallas go even if they were to make it to the postseason?"

There is NO WAY this draft would have set up as nicely for Dallas had they been drafting behind Philly. The Eagles need a WR in the worst way, as well as a CB. They could have been zeroing in on Diggs in round 2.

I'm not advocating always finishing behind Philly. But if comes down to the battle of 8-7s, then count me out. I'd rather go 8-8 and pick in front of them.

The Eagles did us the ultimate favor winning that game. Not only by helping us to kill them in this draft, but by helping us to finally be rid of our huge disadvantage in coaching. That's the biggest favor they did for us.

Dallas has outdrafted the Eagles last 4 or 5 years. So as frustrated as you guys get, Jerry’s recent track record blow’s Howie’s out of the water.

IMO these franchises are going in opposite directions.

Exactly. And I did fail to mention that; thankfully many of you have.

A win @ Philly in December would have meant Jason Garrett is still the head coach.

And instead of Lamb being drafted at #17, we would have been lamenting over Rod Marinelli's next pet project.

Can I ask why we didn't rid ourselves of JG and his clown crew earlier? Like maybe 5 years ago???

Because the failure had to be undeniable and inexcusable before Jerry would ever admit that his pet project and extended family member was a failure.

The man is loyal to a fault.

That Philly game was a win win scenario for me...

Win, because we always want to win, especially against the egirls.

Lose...sealed JGs fate and better draft position.

I couldn't lose that game.

You're thinking micro not macro.

Why should a fan think macro? I don't follow the Cowboys so I can agonize over the state of the team 2-3 years from now.

I watch games because I like the team and want to see them win. There are people paid to think macro - I'm not one of them.

It's not hindsight if you knew it was for the greater good THEN.

Nobody knew anything. There were people clamoring for the greater good in 2018 before we got Coop and look at the run we went on.

This makes perfect sense. It was really no different than Dallas getting a worse draft spot because we won the last game of the season. The Cowboys weren't going anywhere last season, even if they beat the Eagles. The Cowboys were playing at such a low level of intensity I didn't even watch the Eagles game. In hindsight we're way better off things broke the way they did.

To ultimately do nothing but waste two more years.

Some of us did know.

If you take that attitude we may as well forfeit for about 5 years straight, load up, make a run for a few years, then repeat the process.

Its easy to pick the field, but there's no fun in it. Didn't you enjoy the 2018 season? We know the ultimate goal, but as a fan I want to be entertained not grow old writing off season after season.

There have been plenty of teams who caught lightning in a bottle and won it all. Where would they be had they resigned the season?

Edit: there is value in gaining playoff experience as well.

I like the team and want to see them win...the Super Bowl. Winning that game last year would've kept JG employed and put us behind Philly in this years draft. Don't get me wrong I was pulling for the boys but saw the silver lining in the loss.

I disagree. To me it was more valuable being rid of what I knew to be dead weight. After 7 years (at the time), I knew who Garrett was and that even if we got to the playoffs, he'd be outcoached once again.

The bigger picture was more important to me than a one and done playoff spot.

Losing that game to the Eagles was a complete disaster. The biggest issue was the Cowboys were at full strength and Dak looked terrible in the biggest game of the year. No TDs at all for this offense. And to make matters worse Wentz put a beat up Eagles team on his back an proved he could carry the team at times unllike Dak. Even if Dallas wins that game Jason would of been gone. Yeah Dallas picked up a couple good players in the draft but now they have a big fat question mark at the QB position. I would of rather seen Dak ball out in that game and show he is a top talent.

I typed out this huge long paragraph but I deleted it. Good job, you almost had me.
Dude's just trolling.
