Who chooses the coaches?
The bottom line is while the GM remains the same, the results on the field will very likely remain the same.

Ask yourself the question, if Jerry wasn’t the owner would he still be GM.

I think we all know the answer.
You’re right- if Jerry wasn’t the owner, he would not be an NFL GM. Jerry is the only GM in the NFL who earned the position when his check cleared to buy the team.

Jerry is the only one publicly showing that he controls the roster of the team and isn't afraid to take the heat. The other owners have GM's that they can use as a scape goat for their own terrible decisions. Don't doubt for a second that there aren't other owners having large parts of player/roster and coaching or hiring decisions having to be completely approved by the majority owner or team President . These "owners" figured out ways to leverage business's into billion dollar ventures and are serial entrepreneurs who use decision making processes more complex than a GM does. They had to utilze the advice of other smarter people just as GM's do with scouts and other advisers that GM's have on their teams. Most sports owners are more interested in making more money instead of Super Bowls though and aren't obsessed with doing all the work and small decisions that go into constructing a football roster.

In all likelihood Jerry will be replaced by Stephen and guess who Stephen learned his trade from?

It doesn’t look good!

I’m not so sure when Jerry’s gone that Jerry jr and Charlotte are going to be ok with Stephen running the team as their Daddy did.

I’m not saying he’ll run it the same way, just that he won’t be good enough to get the job done as he hasn’t exactly learned from the “master”.

That would be assuming he ran it the same way.

Most likely the siblings with equal ownership will elect to bring in more expertise into the front office so Stephen won’t be burdened with the same responsibilities Daddy was.

Of course we know the answer.. he’s here to stay. That doesnt mean you simply stop looking for a coach or that Garrett would be a good coach if it wasn’t for Jerry. That’s the underlying theme when blaming the owner. No doubt he absolutely sucks and sticking it out with a crap coach is par for the course. But he’s still a crap coach!

And your assumption is based on what exactly?

So now he’s suddenly going to find a good coach?
His record would suggest otherwise.
And even if he did, the HC is still lumbered with a poor GM.

There’s a good team here that will no doubt be wasted if he doesn’t.
