Like everyone else on here, I would be very happy to see Glenn back, although I doubt we're going to see him this year. If by chance we do see him on the field this year, (which I seriously doubt) he's not going to be even close to being in "football" shape since he hasn't practiced, etc. for so long. At his age and the background of this particular injury, I wonder if he'll be back next year. We know that Valley Ranch kept him off the IR list with the "hope" that he would be able to contribute later on this year or in the playoffs, but at this point, I just don't see him back this year at all. I'm just hoping that he will be able to come back for us next year now.

I'm confident that he'll play end of regular season. :)

It's been said before and I will say it again........I highly doubt that Jerry would be holding a spot for him if he didn't anticipate Glenn returning. However it was a surprise to see that Jerry was interested in Bryant (but who knows, that could've been because of the uncertainty of the WR corps behind Crayton).....

(Only old guys like me will get this one)

Don't be so sure. He was before my time, but I grew up watching the best of Johnny Carson on tape.

My gut tells me that he won't be back

my gut tells me we're already over indy. : )

but i don't think glenn will be back either. even if he is, we talk about team chemistry with jones and barber and "if it ain't broke..." is bantered like religion right now.

why would that be any different for glenn?

I will keep saying it for those who don't get it....if Terry Glenn comes back it will not be gravy...it will be necessary to beat the TOP teams in the NFL....New England in particular.. and Green Bay if theri CBs are at full strength....IT WILL CHANGE the way defenses DEFEND us....and if they decide to treat Glenn like he is Crayton...they will pay...OFTEN! TO and Witten get Crayton open..which is what I hope he realizes as he ponders his worth. Glenn is open as soon as he steps on the field because of the fear he puts on a defense. The defense does not fear Crayton...and that will be one MORE thing for Green Bay, or Pitt, or NE to consider. It also might allow us to run the ball more effectively from the begining of the game as opposed to the 4th quarter.

True, even though I think it is possible to beat New England as the team stands right now.

Unlike Michael Irvin and some other few folks in the minority, I believe getting a healthy Terry Glenn back, would only make this team better.

T.O. Owens, Terry Glenn and Jason Witten running routes with this Offensive Line and with Romo playing at an MVP level, this really puts the stamp on the fact that we are an elite team.

This has got to be the biggest nonstory of the Cowboys' season, IMHO.

Glenn skipping the microfracture surgery was a bad move on his part, and his lengthy recovery time from the scope work only confirms it...IF he's able to make it back sometime this season, it won't be enough to make the kind of impact that would've justified missing the majority (If not the entire regular season) of the season when he would've doing the same thing with the microfracture surgery.

And again, even if he does make it back, how much of a factor is he really going to be after not having played in about a year now?

I was thinking for the longest time that he'd be back for the playoffs.

But now with Austin's emergence as the primary returner and contributing some to the offense, I think that may end up shelving Terry.

I don't see us keeping 5 WRs active, and I now don't see Terry supplaning Hurd or Austin on the playoff roster.

It's a good problem to have, I suppose.

You don't Terry supplanting Sam Hurd if he's healthy? Did you guys forget who Terry Glenn is?

I think that's the question (as in 100% healthy).

If he is, then no question he starts beside Owens.

Even if he is 80% i would rather him run routes than hurd or austin

Gregg Ellis wasn't supposed to come back and be effective.......naysayers told me so.

I guess that hasn't turned out so well for the naysayers.

I think he makes it back. I don't know why the team would hold his spot if he couldn't get back. They've held it thus far hoping he could get back but I think at this point if they were still unsure they would make the move to IR.

If he comes back theres no reason why he would be anything less then #2, especially if hes healthy.

It's the same thing we saw with Ellis.

"He's old and now we don't need him because we have Spencer. Ellis should just hang it up."

Glenn could help this offense tremendously. Put him in the slot with Crayton and TO at the wideout positions and watch the fireworks begin.

IF he is at 90% of normal, he will force the D to watch him closely- and that frees up anyone other then Owens to be covered by a safety at best and maybe a linebacker at worst. Or the 4th CB. Crayton would eat heavily of any D that put the 4th CB on him.
