I’ve given up hoping for a Super Bowl. At this point, I’ll take anything above a Divisional Round game.

I watch my fellow DFW Pro Sports Fans
  • Rangers won the World Series last year
  • Stars just made it to NHL Conference Finals Round
  • Mavs are currently in the NBA Finals
  • Cowboys haven’t been to a conference championship game or Super Bowl in almost 30 years. Since 1996.
Meanwhile, since 1996 in the NFL…..

NFC East Fans
  • Eagles - 7 Conf.Championships, 3 SBs
  • Giants - 3 Conf.Championships, 3 SBs
NFL Powerhouses in Mid-90’s
  • 49ers - 7 Conf Championships, 3 SBs
  • Packers - 8 Conf Championships, 3 SBs
  • Steelers - 7 Conf Championships, 3 SBs
Some of the Worst Franchises in the NFL in Mid-90’s
  • Saints - 3 Conf. Championships, 1 SB
  • Buccaneers - 3 Conf.Championships, 2 SBs
  • Falcons - 4 Conf.Championships, 2 SBs
  • Cardinals. 2 Conf.Championships, 1 SB
  • Seahawks - 3 Conf.Championships, 3 SBs
Washington fans are still in the same misery. They haven’t seen a Conf.Championship or SB since the 90’s either. But, their Owner/President just sold the team.

What year do you think our curse will finally end?
When JJ is pushing up daisies.

You left out (cherry on top), Pats had no SB after we won our last in the mid 90’s and now they have more SB wins than the boys with 7.

LOL We’ll be known as the geriatric Cowboys. 70+ HC. 80+ GM. 80+ Owner. Keep Zimm as the DC since he’s almost 70 too. Maybe Schottenheimer can call his old man and see if he’s interested in returning too. :p

I’ll take Jimmy as the GM at 100.
You don't like experience is what I hear you saying.

The only chance we have is if one of Jerry's descendants decides to sell the team.

New ownership is our only chance and there are enough Jones in line to inherit this team that we will never see it in our lifetimes.

All we can hope for is some good football to watch once in awhile and maybe get lucky and win a playoff game I mean how much luckier could we have gotten last year than watching the eagles totally implode and getting the home playoff game like we did.

We couldn't even take advantage of that opportunity.

From top to bottom all this franchises about is making money the players mimic their owner and do nothing but market themselves and make their super bowl scoring the big contract.

None of these players care about a super bowl all that motivates them is making the most money they can in the short window they have.
This says it all.

Losing in the playoffs will not make any of us happy, no matter what round. The three consecutive NFC championship losses in 80, 81, and 82 were terrible. Losing in the Super Bowl is even worse. However in all those years I enjoyed those seasons and that is what I try to do now. A lot of fans I know are so tensed up they can't enjoy a game.

Ah yes. The three back-to-back-to-back appearances for the right to go to the Super Bowl. Back when I was young and had a chest full of pride. Back when I bet on my team all three straight years.

I have never bet on Dallas since, even during the Jimmy Johnson years. Those were three years that traumatized me for life.:confused:

Good lad, let us focus first on our inability to play with the big boys in the first round of the playoffs.
(2022) 23-17 (Dak chokes)
(2023) 19-12 (Dak chokes)
(2024) 48-32 (Dak chokes, chokes, chokes)

2023 season - 2024 , GB playoff game , everything had aligned for a long run in the playoffs, DQ gets busy interviewing and D gets blown off and Offense starts to lay an egg, and Then Dak panics.

It’s the same story for last 20 plus years

As soon as we change the culture of this team. These players are soft, dumb, and don't care enough about winning.
yes but the person or persons to change it are not presently here!

As soon as the jones boys pay dak and lamb we are locked in to another 4 years of the same old same old.

Dunno, but 1-16, superbowl loss, and anything in between? The end result is the same. Playoffs mean nothing to me unless we win it.

The only way they pay back is if he gets to the NFC championship game. At least, I hope that's the bar they've set.

A big fan myth.
If they make it to the NFFCG this season, this still will not go away.
Then it becomes 1 in 29 years. As some fans will see that as a negative to go on about. And not as a positive they made it there.
Forgive me if that doesn't make me or anyone else feel any better. I'm not of a mind that it will go away as long as Jerry and Son are there to make things what they are. I'm not one to believe anything other than what is obvious to anyone with half a brain. Give me credit for knowing what to expect from a FO that has proven things won't get better anytime soon or most likely, even later.

I don't expect it to disappear at all. As far as winning the NFFCG, that's pretty much wishful thinking as well. I'm fully prepared to face facts and the facts aren't encouraging. Sorry but I don't need to be reminded of that. I've been living with it for far too many years, just like everyone else. You don't know me if you think I expect it go blow away with the wind. It'll likely take life-changing experiences for things to drastically change with our FO.

The answer is simple.
Not post-Jerry. Maybe post-Stephen.
I just hope young Spaulding is paying attention
on what, and what not, to do when he's given the throne.

My bet though, is Stephen sells the team.
Maybe then the new guy will make America's Team great again.

It will last as long as a Jones owns this team.
How true that is… except I think if Charlotte ran the team she would be smart enough to know that she has no clue about GM or HC duties and would hire the best. These two hash brains have the biggest egos and feel they can do the job.

Three decades.....its not a curse, that's a Core Value.
Dude that's so far from the truth you guys are ridiculous like this whole narrative like other teams don't experience droughts how about the ones that have no championships whatsoever how about those who only have one in their entire existence how about teams that don't even make the playoffs on a consistent basis how about that bottom 28 teams that seem to fall below the Dallas Cowboys most years yes I realize it's a regular season but we are qualifying and winning divisions which is more than many teams and I mean a long list of teams in the NFL that don't even do that well...

I mean the Kansas City Chiefs took 52 years between their championships I mean Eagles have one championship and yes I realize we're talking about the NFC championship game and whatnot but these things come in circles in my opinion they ebb they flow there's lots of teams with droughts it will come full circle someday and we'll get back to us we'll start winning again it's not even the longest drought in the NFL and the odd thing or I should say irony in this whole thing is we're waiting for number six Jerry's waiting for number 4 but we are the Dallas Cowboys and after this long Astra we're still number three all time in championships and we are the only team since 1989 with three plus championships I mean if that doesn't tell you anything I don't really know what you all love to pile on this ownership and I'm not saying I like the ownership or I love the ownership I really don't care I'm indifferent on who owns this team I follow the star I look forward to the season but you are out of control acting like there's a curse here which by the way I thought ended when Jimmy Johnson finally got put in the Ring of Honor I mean that was the old narrative now it's a new narrative that's a core value?

No I wholeheartedly disagree eventually our turn will come again.. But I'm loud now I'm glad that the goal posts are moved because now instead of Super Bowls which we can clearly making debate for this happens to all teams you moved it to championships in conference games because that's easier to debate because we haven't been to one in that long and it has nothing to do with Super Bowls anymore I always thought it was not getting close it was winning championships but I guess the bragging rights now would be making an NFC championship game then the goal posts will be moved again to winning and NFC championship game then the goal post would be moved to get to a Super Bowl and then it will be moved to winning a Super Bowl...
I get it let's pile on because that's a good thing to do for fans but you know the things you can't control you should just put aside because this is about football and it's always been about watching games debating games debating players what's going on on the field should be most important but everyone's got super involved with the Google sensation where all the stats and the contracts are put online for everyone to feel like there's some know-it-all Internet super GM's which are not...
There are a lot of teams that are struggling to even make the playoffs or win a division title..
isn't it ironic that's still top five would be the Dallas Cowboys all time for both Super Bowl wins and conference championship appearances how is it with this long drought we're still in the top five why are the other teams just not lighting it up and dragging the Dallas Cowboys down to the depths of our fan base thinks we're at?
I get the frustration, I really do ,I want one as bad as anyone but as I said it's a cycle this drought is not as big a deal as people think it is yes it's a gut punch... the constant falling short sucks, I get it... But when you look at the big picture this is not an entire sports landscape of professional sports this is not even close to the worst drought in the history of any sport and it's least our Dallas Cowboys are relative, they're winning they're making the playoffs 5 out of the last eight years they're competing and it'll eventually will break back our way..
