Many here hate Jerry and the idiots wish him dead, but he's provided the players to win...you can't play him for dropped passes, Dak choking or Quinns stupid gameplan this year.
Who hired the coaches and who picks the players, and then chooses which ones to (over)pay?

I have no issue with assigning blame to players and coaches, but why pretend Jerry is a helpless victim when he has insisted on playing GM for the past 30 years with no SB's for 28?

Football leadership 101. You are either coaching it or allowing it to happen.

Yep...you have inside info...lol! 3 seasons in a row with 12 wins...it's Jerry’s fault, Dak, Zeke, Gallup, MM, etc.. I wish you all could make up you mind. Everyone loves Jimmy, but who paid the players that he wanted. He did great in Miami, even lost his last game 70-0.
I'm not crazy Jerry at this age hasn't stepped aside, some just want hate on the flavor of the week..

flavor of the week..
How is 28 years "flavor of the week?"

If it's Dak's fault, was it Romo's before that? Before Romo it must have been Quincy Carter's, Drew Henson's, and Chad Hutchinson's collective faults.

Dak played defense? Oh no, you said it was Quinn's fault. Jerry couldn't stop bragging about Quinn the past few years. Did Quinn trick him?

Let me know once you recognize the very obvious theme.

The theme is haters gonna hate. They'll never be happy. We can win a SB and they'll still find something to cry about...some people are wires to look for the bad. That's all! Now shoooo

There are a myriad of professional organizational structures outside professional team sports. Managers. Directors. Supervisors. VPs. There is a long list of individuals up-the-chain held accountable by the performance and productivity of those down-the-line from them. The same holds true within professional team sport organizations as well.

The NFL has been around for a century. There have been numerous (understatement) general managers or individuals with similar authority who have never caught a regular season pass during their tenure. Never made a tackle. Never kicked a field goal. Never threw a pass. So many have been relieved over their duties because the players and coaches they oversaw did not accomplish the goals set for them.

Jerry Jones is not a player. He is his own self-appointed general manager. He is also the owner, who has not held himself accountable for the lack of goals he holds everyone else too.

Jones cannot be constantly criticized for allowing this contradiction to continue for decades. But he shall be. For as long as he keeps the contradiction moving forward.

That's been the Fan Boy motto for years now. As if you guys are somehow better fans because you are blindly optimistic each and every season.

When the Cowboys fans win their next Super Bowl, the "realists," or "haters" as you call them, will celebrate it just as much as you will. There will be new fans coming out of the woodworks too. When you are celebrating (and you should) just know so will 99.9% of the Cowboys fans in the world, whether or not they like Jerry Jones.

Go Cowboys! Go without Jerry Jones meddling and you might get actually get there.

Obviously it will end at some point. I wouldn’t bet this year, but who really knows? It will likely be a year when most aren’t expecting it. Many feel this recent success window for the Cowboys is closing rather than getting wider open…

At least I can enjoy the game.

It’s frustrating for this generation of fans but my plate is still pretty full. I wouldn’t have much room in my Mancave for anymore championship memorabilia.

Yes, our other local sports teams are having more success but they suked for decades too. Cowboys still have more championships than all of them combined .

And I wouldn’t expect it to change until Jethro is gone or steps down.
I’m sure you are like me but as proud as I am and as happy as those years made me with Tom and Roger etc and Jimmy and Troy etc, I want to be excited for a future that sadly I believe is several years away still - unless Charlotte Jones takes over, then I’ll have hope.

Wonder how many Cowboys fans would support Charlotte Jones Anderson being the controlling sibling over the franchise as a compromise? I say compromise because the most likely outcome is that the family retains ownership of its multi-billion-dollar cash cow for generations. One of his DNA Kids will be Jerry Jones' successor.

Stephen Jones is the most likely successor but he does not seemingly inspire more confidence in his competency as an owner than his father. Jerry Jones Jr. has stayed pretty much out of the family limelight as its sales and marketing VP. Anderson has been viewed primarily as a superficial public relations ambassador of her father's empire--not visibly competing for his eventual crown.

Maybe she is that ambitious on the inside. She would be fully aware of other women owners of professional sports teams, like Jeanie Buss of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Sheila Ford Hamp of the Detroit Lions. Perhaps she envisions herself as the controlling force for the Dallas Cowboys in the same capacity.

There is nothing to go by but it *feels* like she comprehends allowing others to do what they are qualified to do and support them from a distance. Assuredly, she *seems* like the smartest of the bunch--although Jerry Jr. might actually be the brainiac of the Jones clan in reality. There is no vote in the matter but I would put my blind support into Anderson over her older brother. Without hesitation.

I've stated in previous threads that when Jerry’s control of the franchise is passed on, Charlotte and Jerry Jr, as equal tri-owners could convince Stephen to turn over all daily nuts-and-bolts football operations to experienced, qualified people.
They already have one in house- Will McClay...make him the official GM. Stephen steps aside and runs team entities like his sister and brother have been doing for many years now - plus take over running other enterprises that the father has going on.
Stephen could be stubborn, however...step in the GM role along with still handling his current football duties for a couple of years before realizing he's not capable of making it work back to a true title contender before giving up.

Well, Stephen Jones' siblings can count me in if they ever need a bamboo shoot supplier for torturing him into compliance.

You enjoyed the Green Bay game?

I enjoyed several games last season. I went to three road games last year. That Green Bay plauoff game made me sick.
I enjoy the game....I didn't like losing, but enjoy breaking down plays and watching the game. GB played great. Quinn had a horrible gameplan and Dak didn't show up early. I can give GB credit and not cry and pout about the Cowboys. If I did that, I wouldn't watch anymore. Why be miserable? Life's too short. Get your hankies out.
