Salary cap applies to everyone. MVP runner up and 3 straight 12-5 seasons. There is a market value for that. Either you want to pay it or you don't. Dallas has not won in 30 years and their value has risen higher than any franchise in sports history. So winning is not the criteria that determines value...demand determines it.A player and agent knows there's a salary cap thus a limited amount of money to go around for the team, this is not new information or a surprise to them. So how much money an owner has really is irrelevant.
I'm afraid Jerry will cave out of fear. Fear drives a lot of things in life and most of the time it shouldn't. Fear is why many on this board insist we must sign Dak to pretty much whatever he wants because fear is behind the logic that this team will be no good without him. It's not even that I'm arguing that they're wrong, it's that I can accept being bad to find a great QB versus not winning in the playoffs with Dak anyway. But fear will tell you we can't do that because we'll never find a great QB. May be true, may not, only one way to find out and regardless Dak is in his 30's he won't be around forever.
Do you think Jerry is giving any money back or saying his franchise is not worth the money it brings because they don't win? So Dak owes it to himself and the QBs that come after him to ask and receive his market value!
