Such a dumb article. So many factors go into Dez's "struggles" the past two seasons.

For one, Dez and Dak clearly didn't have enough of a rapport last season until the Lions game, that was where Dak showed he knew how to throw downfield to Dez even when he is not "open". Dez knows how to body corners out and high point the ball in the air, but it's difficult for a rookie QB to trust a receiver who doesn't always get separation in his vertical routes, especially a rookie who didn't get much time throwing to Dez in training camp.

Two, the Cowboys offense doesn't like to force the ball to Dez, or even to move him around too much in formations. They are content with teams doubling him to enable their offense to find Beasley, Williams, and Witten in single coverage. But even more importantly they are comfortable to run the ball when Dez is doubled, which the majority of teams in the NFL aren't comfortable with. Some fans are infuriated with that strategy, but I don't see that changing any time soon.

The most important reason for his inability to hit 1,000 yards recently is his missed games though. He missed 6 &1/2 games in 2015 due to injury and had the worst QB play in the NFL. In 2016 Dez missed 3 games due to injury and sat out a 4th in the final game of the season. This is the most important part of Dez's game as he finishes out the last 3 years of his contract. He needs to prove he can stay healthy, because the front office have proven with Romo and Ware that they can't afford to pay big money to players who consistently miss games.

So Dez doesn't need some retread veteran wide receiver to be the #2 guy, he just needs to stay healthy to increase his production.

Now he needs help? Lmao. He has arguably the best line in football. One of the best RBs you have to account for. Witten and Beasley you have to account for. We are paying him big money. What more can we do? We can't go out there and grab anyone to pair up with him. We could easily take his salary and divide it up for 2 solid WRs and be just as good or if not better. This offense was the most crisp and efficient without him on the field. Maybe its Dez who needs to start stepping up for a change.

Dumb article is dumb.

When will the Dallas Cowboys get Dez Bryant some help?
http://thelandryhat.com/2017/05/21/dallas-cowboys-dez-braynt-help/

After posting yet another lackluster season, when will the Dallas Cowboys finally get some real help for wide receiver Dez Bryant?
The Dallas Cowboys had some pretty productive receivers last season. However star wide receiver Dez Bryant struggled to string together consistent performances on the field.

Slot receiver Cole Beasley had the more productive season for the offense, leading the team in receptions with 75 catches for 833 yards and five touchdowns. Bryant recorded just 50 receptions for 796 yards and eight scores in 2016...

Wide receivers like Jarvis Landry, Taylor Gabriel, Mike Wallace, John Brown, and Donte Moncrief are all scheduled to become free agents. A player that can stretch the field would do wonders for the production of both Beasley and Bryant. So if the Cowboys offense regresses a bit this season, we should see the addition of some new wide receivers via the draft and/or free agency...

no FA, just continue to draft.

Hopefully Rico can be that guy. Like Eifert is to Green.

Bryant hasn't had real help since LR.

That's all we need, not another flashy superstar but a consistent guy, who can beat his coverage when Dez is doubled. That was LR.

**** AB has that. He has Bell, and Bryant as well as Sammy Coates. Pittsburgh is set

Bell was their #2 last year...Bryant was suspended, and Coates only had 21 catches as their #4 leading wr in yards, 5th in receptions.

AB is just better...
