Where are you now on losing/retaining/promoting Dan Quinn?

He was one of the hottest names for the 2023 HCing cycle before the season started. Although we are ranked #5 defensively, we still have some serious issues. But I guess the question is/are his scheme vs lack of quality players in key positions. Has his star fizzled a bit over the last few weeks? Thoughts?

  • Do you still want him as MM replacement?
  • Are you OK with losing him for an HC job?

I’d much rather keep Mike in as the head coach.

He’s been light years ahead of what we had with Garret. He’s solid.

It doesn’t matter. This team will continue to falter at the hands of any and everyone. We’re a poverty franchise that can’t be fixed. Keep his or lose him, we’ll be in the same 1st round exit loop until the end of time.
Time is a flat circle?

Exactly where I was. Good DC, highly questionable as a HC.

It always amazes me how people continuously fall for the flash of the moment.

Absolutely. People are so used to bashing him, they simply do it now out of habit w/o any mental assessing at all.

If you’re so sure we’re doomed to perpetual failure, why “support” the Dallas Cowboys? Why watch, why hang around, unless you ENJOY watching Dallas come up short? Any normal, logical person could connect the dots.

Still remains a quality dc, but I wonder about him as a hc. His defense blew big leads, like in that super bowl against the patriots. Actually believe MM has done a very good job, would like to see him become the play caller

As a HC with ATL in his final days, Quinn's defense (and special teams) was notorious for blowing leads, even big leads, not just the SB vs Pats.
That is what will stick with me in his sted as a HC.

The sad thing that would come outta McCarthy being let go .. is because of Cowboys management's utter infatuation with Kellen Moore, McCarthy was never able to implement his own GB like offense.
And per game tape, McCarthy O" would've made much more creativity with the RBs in the pass game, - especially with explosive " Pro Bowler" Tony Pollard.

As it it, McCarthy has been limited to being a clipboard HC and game manager,..the team goes as his coordinators and asst coaches goes- none are under his lead.
Moore does his,OC.. Quinn does his DC.. and Bones is Bones'.special teams.
McCarthy's biggest attribute now may be his long time buddy and OL coach Joe Philibin.

It’s crazy. When you stack Mikes resume next to Peyton’s they’re very similar.

I think Sean is a better coach, but it’s a much smaller margin than most blast it out to be.

Also - Sean is fixing nothing as long as Jerry and co fail at roster management.

Why give him the courtesy of a response?

I actually don't think he's better. I was never in love w/ Payton. I give MM the edge.

I really feel, outside of that Terrible Nolan hire, he has done well as the hc. Garrett could never overcome injuries, MM and his staff have navigated much better. Think if the team fails again, give MM a chance to run this offense before they consider hiring someone else

Both had hall of fame qb’s and led them to just 1 sb victory. MM did it with a mash unit which was very impressive, like him as the team’s HC, but want Moore gone

what if it's the Defense that has failed ?

and the last 2 playoff appearances ...it has been the defense and some NFL running the ball and steam rolling right over us ...ala Rams and Niners.

Super Bowls are just that much hard to win one .... much less get there. Several upon several Hall of Fame QBs don't have that SB ring, or much less even got there to compete.

The Pats were just an ultra unique Dynasty repeaters that we may not ever come close to seeing again in our lifetime.
and we had only a 4 game span of our Jimmie Johnson roll of SBs'

Last I heard, he was content with staying on as the Dallas DC. Despite some issues adjusting to some major injuries the last couple of weeks, he's done an excellent job. Keep him here as DC for as long as he wants to be here.
