Copperas Cove HS.

Buffalo Bills of HS football. Went to the 4A state championship both junior and senior year and lost both years. Senior year it was to the one man team from Lamar Consolidated I like to call Jacquizz Rodgers.

You weren't too far from me. We may have even played y'all in our 4A days.

Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch High School, outside Amarillo.

I almost went to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Back in 1949 but my brothers and I thought that's where we were going (broken family) but would up at Boys Town, Nebraska so...

My high School was Boys Town, Nebraska and our rival was Creighton Prep in Omaha. Back in those days, Boys Town had some pretty strong athletic teams and even went to Cincinati to play Purcell High when Roger Staubach was QBing their team in my senior year (Pur5cell beat us but they knew they had played a game. I saw the game film and actually mety Roger in Dallas in the early 80s. He still remembered the game. No, I didn't play, I was a swimmer - state champion.

Awesome basketball program there WG....my wife was good friends with Shirley Benton who was eventually the principle at Dunbar
Well, it was a nice program there. Now they're pretty terrible and it's unfortunate that Coach Hughes son is ruining the family legacy.
