He's number 1 in my book! Thou shalt not covet another team's QB.
And Mahomes the Patriots showed us middle pressure destroys him.
He missed so many wide open receivers. Yes they destroyed him. He didn't do anything till late in the fourth quarter. He was putting up Hail MarysIf being destroyed by a defense is 16/31 295 yards, 3 TD, 0 INTs and leading your team to 31 points I will take it any day. Know how many times we scored 31 or more last year? You can count them on one hand (3). Yes he struggled like all do when pressure comes up the middle, but to say destroyed is a bit much. The defense is the reason they lost that game, not Pat.
They destroyed him for 3/4. They let up. And then when they pressured him again they shut him down. What's the game againIf being destroyed by a defense is 16/31 295 yards, 3 TD, 0 INTs and leading your team to 31 points I will take it any day. Know how many times we scored 31 or more last year? Traditional passer rating ranks him like this:
1 Brees 106.4
2 Ryan 105.7
3 Brady 103.5
4 Rodgers 100.3
5 Wilson 98.7
6 Luck 97.5
7 Cousins 97.0
8 Rivers 96.1
9 Prescott 95.9
10 Smith 95.3
ESPN's Total QBR puts him here:
1 Brady 73.5
2 Ryan 71.5
3 Brees 70.0
4 Luck 68.8
5 Prescott 68.4
6 Rodgers 66.4
7 Rthlsbrgr 66.3
8 Rivers 63.3
9 Wentz 63.2
10 Wilson 62.1
That's regular season. If you include playoffs, he moves up to 8th and 4th.
The statisticians who keep those records watch games with their elbows.Yeah but what does the “eye ball test” say?
How many starting QB's got signed for a long term deal this off-season and who are they? Before the 2018 off-season, who would've thought that QB's like Cousins or Garoppolo would set the "average QB" market in the upper 20's (Cousin's is like close to or at $29M)? Who would've thought that Wilson would be making $35M a year average in his deal to be the highest paid QB? Is he worth it being paid that much? Sure. That's the market. In the 2020 offseason, don't be surprised if a very good QB gets a $36-37M contract. We'll see, but the fact of the matter is that it is currently not in fact, the going rate for average QBs. In fact, there are no average QBs make 30 plus in the League.
Carson Wentz no way better. And Mahomes the Patriots showed us middle pressure destroys him. Aaron Rodgers I'll take Prescott before him now any day. Mr Hail Mary put the ball up for grabs has lost it. I could go on and on but. Statistically he's in the top five. But who cares about statistics. , they are for your career not for anything else
I'm telling you I would definitely take Prescott right now over Aaron Rodgers. Reading comprehension properly I believe Dak Prescott was the best quarterback in his class. Jared Goff cannot read a defense and Carson Wentz I never appreciated
Two things that people generally fail to factor in with QBs
1) Durability
2) Run threat
Dak comes up big on both. 6 tds a season rushing. I think that's tops in the league the last 3 years.
https://pickingpros.com/nfl/2018/quarterback-rushing-leaders.php
Too many fumbles and fumbles lost in 2018, though.
I think Dak would come up higher in the stats with an offense that made a point of taking advantage of him. When we do it, Dak has big games running.
I expect Moore to make Dak a big part of a multiple run threat offense. Olawale, Cobb, Austin, Pollard. We kept and picked up a lot of complementary run threats to Zeke who can be on the field when Zeke is. Dak is a natural fit for such a system.
First of all. Show me where I said Prescott is better than Mahomes. Second of all you can't interact different quarterbacks with different teams the scheme is different. Did you forget the Giants game The Ravens game where they turned Prescott loose. He was brilliant do you understand why we don't throw for that many yards. Do you know how many teams lose because they throw for too many yards. Throwing for yardage means absolutely nothing. Anything else you need me to explain to youLet's speak in reality.
You believe Prescott is better than Mahomes. If that's the case you would believe Prescott can throw for 5000 yards and 50 touchdowns in the same year. When have you seen anything watching Prescott that he has that ability in the passing game?
That is the flaw in Prescott. He is above average, but not great or elite. He just doesn't have the "it" in the passing game to elevate him to the top tiers of QBs.
This is just an example so don't take it the wrong way. Remember when some games Dallas wouldn't show up with a running game or defense and Romo would be asked to throw 40+ times for 400 yards and at least 3 touchdowns just to keep Dallas in the game. Well if you look at the very top QBs they have this trait. Once again, Prescott doesn't have this gear, he will never be a gunslinger. Not in his DNA.
Put Prescott on Kansas City and he would be like Alex Smith. Andy Reid would start him, but he would be looking to upgrade. All because of the passing game.
If Prescott were an elite QB, Dallas would be favorites. But he's above average, so they are just contenders.
We took the youngest starting team in the league, to the second round of the playoffs and you call that average LOLLet's speak in reality.

It's funny Mahomes blew the playoff game against the Patriots. Running backwards taking himself out of field-goal range was the mistake of the day. Patriots destroyed him with middle pressure. Only time he did good is when they backed off. I can't wait to see how the lead treat sitting now that they know his weaknessesLet's speak in reality.
