Where does Tony Pollard rank among all NFL RBs

Elliot has way better hands. And he’s a better pass protector. And I love Tony Pollard just as much. They both have their specialties

I wish someone could bring up his statistics, but his yards per reception was I want to say last out of like 52, hands don't mean anything if you can't make a guy miss or break a tackle. It was a big thread, so many of them have gotten over looked by the Zeke lovers over the years.

If the Cowboys ran their team like a organization that actually gave their best players opportunity and not just the guy with the highest contract where do you think Pollard would be among the NFLs elite?

He’s far and away the best back on the team and if given the opportunity where does he rank among the top tier guys?

Where does Pollard rank?

I would say higher tha Zeke. And tha is all tha matters, bloke.

Lamar Jackson is the best RB in the league. No question.

After him there's a tier that includes Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, maybe Jonathan Taylor, Dalvin Cook and Saquon Barkley.

Pollard is in the next tier.

Egads!
Are you saying Zeke is 4th tier? He certainly is not in the same tier as Pollard.

Fun stat: Tony Pollard leads the NFL in yards after contact per attempt. Its not really close either. I think the fanbase underestimates how good he is at running through arm tackles.

Fun stat 2: If Tony Pollard got 15 attempts per game every game, he would be 1 shy of 5th in the NFL in rushing attempts. The time of "bell cow" type runners is over. Virtually every team platoons their running backs. Dallas using 2 or Pollard getting a break is the norm, not the exception.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2022/rushing_advanced.htm

Its funny but when you look league wide what we are realistically looking for is for Zeke to give Pollard about THREE rushing attempts per game. Its not really some massive disparity. Zeke getting about 12 and Pollard 15 would be just fine.

For some, this information likely does not matter. Every time Elliott is on the field receiving a carry, they are not happy about it, thinking about what Pollard could do with that carry. They cannot accept that he would likely be more efficient, able to stay healthy, etc., if he can be kept fresher.

I mentioned what he said in the Sounds from the Sideline video from the Bears game. If you look at that play, it's easy to see he had tired legs, like he said. The defensive back chasing him would have caught him if it had not been for a trailing blocker getting in the DB's way.

If we want a healthy, faster Pollard, then we can't let him get pounded down in games. I'm fine if fans want someone other than Zeke to take that pounding, but someone has to do it. That's one reason I was glad to get the opportunity to see Malik Davis in a regular-season game. If he shows he can handle that role next year, then we can re-sign Pollard, let Elliott go and not have to spend an early draft pick to make sure we effectively replace him.

I think he would be an Aaron Jones caliber HB. Which would be probably be the back end of top 10

Lol @ Zeke doing anything special.

Every thing that makes Zeke better is some BS that can’t be measured that fans make up.

Realistically carrying the load is about 15 touches a game. Pollard can do that.
Ok if that's what you think ok. I guess we'll see

Zeke is the better FB.
That's it.
Pollard has the potential to be a top 3 RB easily 1700-2000 yard guy.

I haven't an ounce of confidence in this fanbase player judgements. It is better to use your own judgment; it can be no worse.

Left up to this fanbase, Wentz would be QB, Laveon Bell would be RB, Dez, Beasley, and Wilson would be receivers; with Garrett coaching.

Is this a troll? You can't possibly believe that.

How can you say that a RB who has way less yards (475 vs 627) with probably double the amount of snaps is better? It's apparently obvious watching the games as well who the better back is.

Zeke is a better blocker and better at picking up short yardage sure.

Before anyone will take you seriously, stop with the embellishments.

For all the nonsense posted. He us comparable to Dalvin Cook, but he is no Dalvin Cook. Stop posting nonsense and reread the rb coach write up.

If the Cowboys pounded Pollard for 20+ carries a game, like most fans want them to do he wouldn’t be as effective. A lot of teams are rotating RBs. It’s a punishing position, and it keeps them fresh. What the Cowboys are doing has been working but fans continue to complain about it. Pollard didn’t get all the carries last week. If you have two capable backs that have a role it makes no sense not to use them both. Zeke had a very good game against the Lions two weeks ago even though he only had 52 yards. He’s punishing and he put up 2 TDs on the board. It would be stupid just a bench him so we can wear down Pollard with the entire load.
Just keep preaching, basic football. Someday they’ll get it

I want them to use Pollard exactly like they did against Chicago.

Zeke can get the scraps.

RBs aren’t getting 20 Carrie’s a game anyways.
They are , In the scheme we’re running.

Depends on the touches he would get but when he plays, he's the closest RB I've seen to Kamara.

However, until he totes the rock as the feature back over at least 8 consecutive games, we don't know how consistent and durable he is. He was on stage this past Sunday with his audition so he was pumped to play.
