Dak played like Romo yesterday, but Romo never got this level of hate. Go figure.
Romo would have had another TD or two had he thrown those two interceptions. Romo wouldn't have thrown them in 2014 when he had the o line and running game so he didn't feel obliged to play hero ball and make boneheaded plays.

Romo was not great and neither is Prescott. The Cowboys have had two great, Staubach and Aikman and two near-great, Meredith and White.

The search for greatness at that position continues after Prescott. And I agree about this continuing because Johnson was dead on about Booger, he cannot admit he was wrong and people like that continuing being wrong hoping they will be right.

My fear, as well as others also, Jerry will give an extension to Dak to get cap relief from his contract. When he should actually move on. I like Dak to a degree, but he just can't get us there unless there is some luck involved.
The game was there for the taking, and he could not do it. Yes, the defense let us down as well. But Dak should have been better.
I posted in the game thread, if Dak wanted to start his legacy, he would pull that game out. I know there are other reasons, as I said, the defense, as well ,dumb butt boy wonderless play calling.

But it still falls on Dak to make plays. Rodgers did, as usual against us. So Dak should have also if he wants to be considered elite.

Naw Romo gets some level of respect because he did more with less. Not much more but certainly more. Dak is a guy who is being paid like a franchise QB (same as Romo) but neither of them are that caliber of QB. Now with Romo one can argue that he mostly had poor teams, never really had a defense even close to what we have today. Offensive Line was generally bad which required him to constantly pull rabbits out of his hat. Dak on the other hand has lived a bit of a charmed existence compared to Romo. Time will tell what happens to the roster once the real pain of that contract bites in.
Romo played under Garrett most of his career. Enough said. That alone should put him in the HOF.

Agree with this completely! I feel like we’ve seen the ceiling on him and it’s not good enough vs top teams. It’s going to take perfect circumstances for a run to happen. A friend and coworker from Chicago was at the game yesterday and said he just looked bad. One minute it’s a clean 2 min drill and then he’s missing guys by a mile

truth is most games in the NFL is decided in the last 5 minutes of the game. Dak just isn't good enough to process and accurate enough to go win games on a consistent basis. that makes him a very average QB at best. he has been surrounded with elite talent all of his career. most QBs would die for that opportunity. i hope he pulls a hammy ad has to sit out the year, but fully recovers during the off season. And pulls that hammy during training cam and has to miss next season. i jut want someone different at this point. i'm tired of the seeing the same thing happen over and over again

Billship. "never got this level of hate"? So little hate that sports media has to put out articles to show he never deserved "that level: of hate.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-not-tony-romo-deserves-the-criticism-he-gets

"No, Tony Romo has not won a Super Bowl. Yes, Tony Romo has won only one playoff game in his career. Is it his fault?"

"Simply put, no. "

Big media outlet has to try to convince fans to not hate their QB? How old are ya? 15? Even to this day....seven years later...people are STILL spewing their hatred for romo.

Pretty epic and ...at least for now....WAY surpasses Dak hate.

There's a lot in the article that Romo haters absolutely won't read. But I find this one of the most critical...as it destroys their notion "romo is a choker":

"Speaking of facts, consider this one: Tony “the choke artist” Romo has 13 fourth quarter comebacks and 14 game-winning drives. Romo also holds a 104.4 passer rating in the fourth quarter, a 99.8 passer rating when in the fourth within seven points, and a 116.7 rating in overtime."

Yes and Romo's impersonation of Brett Favre cost us just as many games as Dak has, yet Romo is loved and revered and Dak is well ...
I will say it again....for the blithering clueless:

For some reason many fans have a sudden love for Romo, after he was replaced.
A friend of mine always talking Tony Romo now, and how great he was. But when he was actually playing, he was as frustrated and others for throwing those goal line picks.
Now he acts as if Romo was great. With all the excuses, surrounding players, no defense...which is mostly true...however he acts as if he did nothing wrong.

I told him the only difference is Romo had much better pocket awareness, and more accurate on certain throws. Otherwise they are basically the same.

I was more pro Dak than not, giving him this season to see where I stand. But I been that way for the past 3 seasons. Allowing for the injuries to become a non factor. However I am now at a 50-50 stance on him. What do we have, 2 more years on his contract? Unfortunately we have the Jerry insanity factor.

I think there will be more frustrations ahead.
Only more accurate on "certain throws"?

Anyody that watches this would say more accurate period:

they aren;t the same QB at all.

Meaning he can make the throws to the sidelines better, as in better arm strength. As to deep passes, they are about the same, maybe Dak is a little better, but we don’t get to see it, because we don’t have any one that can get deep. As well Moore is an idiot and doesn’t seem to have any deep passing plays.

I stand by what I say. You just need to understand it better.

They are the same QB overall…look at the lack of playoff success.
Fans need to stop acting like Tony was some great QB.

But i just posted the stats that show he was....at the very least....a very good qb....that wasnt as bad as people like you make him out to be. "Choker"? His stats say otherwise.

When its dak its a team game....when romo it was all him.

Dak played like Romo yesterday,

Honest question. How many interceptions did Romo throw while standing in a nice pocket?
He threw some interceptions but a large % of them were under duress either in the form of running for his life or it's 4th down I've got to at least give my guy a chance.
Dak throws them from clean pockets.

I did not say he was a bad QB and did not say what you just posted.
Stop making stuff up.
