The amount of butthurt some get just by saying Romo was a good QB is astounding.

What is more peculiar has been the sheer repetitive longevity. It has been going strong for well over a decade. Some folks' auto-response, not just online but in real life conversations as well, to another person saying 'Romo was a good quarterback' has been, literally, almost a daily occurrence for years.

It is one thing for sports talking heads to do it. Their reward is sustaining viewers/readers, convincing advertisers of audience numbers and keeping the 'cha-CHING!' train going. It is another thing for everyday people to do it practically every day.

The butthurt is no different by some saying 'Prescott is a good quarterback' also. The franchise having both quarterbacks consecutively has made the current player's conversations usually like that scene from the movie UP!

Kinda sucks with that denver game int is the tackle was pushed into Romos leg when he threw the ball. He was on fire that game.

I really hate checking the boards on here and see the same handful of people just saying the damn same things on repeat and so blatantly hypocritical. Its like watching ESPN on here.

After the "Seattle Snap" play media and fans focused and magnified every single interception. But at the end Tony threw the same rate of INT as Peyton.

It's also a pity that by the time Tony finally had a good offensive line...his back was a chronic mess.
Romo had a good offensive line all throughout his career.

Y’all only hate it when it’s said about retired Romo. People literally copy and past the same stuff about Dak and it’s not an issue.

This is extreme. Nobody gets but hurt over it. Everyone acknowledges he was good. Nothing more nothing less it’s what y’all say after that is where y’all go overboard.

Just chiming in here briefly....Romo had really good or even great lines in 2007, 2008, most of 2009, and especially 2014.......but one of the league's worst o-lines from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.

That 2014 line was tremendous...on par with 2016 even. And our lines have been good (sometimes great) for most years since then compared to league average.

So yes, nearly half his career, the lines were good. The other half they were awful, with some years being some of our worst in 30 years.
2011 and 2012 were just comically bad.

Yeah, his own player stepped on his foot as he was throwing it. Still a great diving interception by the defender. So credit play there.
That game was clutch play after clutch play after clutch play as Manning and Romo went back and forth. Almost no punts all game

So...countless hot women are OK for a quarterback.

But a few extremely hot women that have their own fame...that's not OK.

Did I summarize correctly?
No you totally missed the point about celebrity women taking a lot of time and maintenance that can detract from your football focus.

its an issue on both sides, just tired of seeing it over and over. Theres no more discussion its just two sides yelling at a wall for 30 pages every thread on this. Saying its justified cause "they do it too" is just as bad

yeah, one of my most bittersweet games. That 2013 season was all over the place

Blackrain,

If you'd argued for Roger Staubach and commitment to wife and monogamy...I might have respected your opinion. Sincerely, I might have.

That would have constituted something meaningful, instead of sheer hypocrisy and BS, which is what you dished up.
There is no hypocrisy or BS Roger staubach lived a monogamous life with a family and was grounded and committed to being the quarterback of the Dallas cowboys.

Tony Romo made dating beautiful celebrities a priority.

Hard to tell where he put being the quarterback of the Dallas cowboys in his life.

No, he didn't. Come on

He dated and broke up with Simpson (not at all known as a party girl, btw) in 1 1/2 of his 13 years in the league.
The guy is one of the biggest home-bodies and even when he dated a celeb for short while he was rarely seen out on the town....unlike so many others.
Good grief

Tony Romo was a good quarterback had all the skills had all the potential in the world.

But Tony like to throw the ball more than anything else and if it brought a win great but he was throwing the ball anyway.

Roger and Troy did whatever was needed to win and if that meant handing the ball to Emmitt Smith or taking off and running for the first down yourself.

They made it happen they were leaders of men not concerned with their own statistics.
Yes they had better teams because their teammates believed in them and played above their heads.

Leadership is an intangible that's tough to measure but the ones that have it lead their teams to great things the ones that don't lead in statistical categories but often fall short of the big prize

It evokes reactions, which is why people do it. Prescott is a good QB. He disappears often when it matters most. He panics. Until he overcomes that quirk he's developed, he will never be "very" good. Romo had a similar problem, but overcame it. Prescott however seems to be more of a basket case than he was before.

When people come in here slobbering to bash Romo the second the thread is created, yeah, it's butthurt. It's especially funny when there was no denigrating Prescott. The amount of energy some of the Romo-bashers put in here is every bit the amount that some Prescott bashers put in.

In the end, Romo didn't get it done. Sure there were circumstances that hurt his chances, but he didn't get it done. So far Prescott hasn't got it done either. Let's hope this season's changes help with that. Personally, until he overcomes whatever mental issue that was created when his ankle was injured I don't see it happening.

Understood but poking the bear and/or jumping from the neverending poking might be going a TAD overboard after the first hundred or so times within any calendar year. Some people should either get exhausted from poking others or inject some lidocaine into their tender spot where they are always allowing themselves to be constantly poked.
