This is one of the worst defenses in the league. Keep fighting the good fight.
A list of six strong players on defense was listed above. Three were linebackers...get your eyes checked also. You aren't picking up facts.

Facts are that they’re a bottom 10 defense in every category. The only team that’s given up more points is Carolina. You’re the one not picking up facts my brother.

I started facts, no, you are still crying. Guess you can't figure out the number three and the word linebacker for starters.

Three defensive players that make the defense a strong foundation:

DE Micah Parsons

LB DeMarvion Overshown

CB DaRon Bland

Those 3 are leaders on all three levels. Good!

Slowly but surely, Mike Zimmer's defense has made strides as his players get more comfortable in the scheme. It was evident last week with five sacks and two turnovers, but there's still work to be done to meet Zimmer's expectations.

"He keeps his players motivated and expects his players to come in wanting to learn more and wanting to do better," Overshown said. I think when you've got that as a coach and as a leader you never can get too far down, you never can feel like you can't get back up from what y'all just faced."

Although there have been a lot of down points for the Cowboys defense this year, Overshown prides himself on giving his all every snap for veteran players like Eric Kendricks, who are nearing the tail-end of their careers, hoping that his effort can carry long-term effects for the defense's production and his teammates' appreciation.

The past three weeks the element for leadership and motivation was missing from the coaching staff. Well, that element showed up again on the defensive side.

Zimmer is the man. Linebackers are the fiber that connects a defense, from crashing in on the linebacker to the secondary behind. This group of 'backers' are battle proven now. That and they are good.

Micah Parsons, DeMarvion Overton, and Eric Kendricks are a strong and talented trio. Damone Clark, and Marist Liufau provide a good depth.

I'm watching this group provide speed and intensity.

The other two groups will be growing strongly.

That's what it seemed like only because Micah Parsons makes that big a difference and people around here don't think so I find it kinda comical look I know he doesn't always load the sacks up and he's not like stacking them up but his presence alone draws attention that helps the rest of the team and the more guys that come back yes they will get more comfortable but going somewhere I doubt it we'll find out as we play better teams each week... The fun part here is Overshown playing with Parsons and having a coordinator figure out how to make them both such a problem that somebody's gonna have a big game one or the other that's what's been missing around here they need to get these two dudes on the field at the same time multiple weeks and just cause havoc..

Good view and current. Two of the very best defenders here and now, as a unit member.

This is when active personal things get forging and not squeeling like stuck hogs. I like the Defensive Coordinator even if you have lost control of self control.

This has now become a good group of linebackers for real. When healthy, the team will have 3 strong corners shortly as well as the best pair of defensive ends available.

Forged In fire, not sucking on a fire...

My football started out in 1957, in Bishop, Texas. Ronnie Bull rushed for 2,451 yards in 12 games and led the Nation in scoring at 225 points. He went onto to Baylor for All American for 1960 and 1961.

I started up for the 8th grade football team in Bishop, and we were unscored upon that whole season, in 1964. I was a defensive end and called plays for the offense as a tight end. My family moved onto Kingsville and I played 3 years in High School and was All District at linebacker. Played from 1966-1968. This is where I started as a player.

Ronnie was Rookie of the year and was halfback in 1963, until Gayle Sayers was drafted in 1965. Pat Summerall said he looked the part of his bull name. Ronnie then became the Bear's fullback. He helped the Bears win the team title.

Sid Blanks was the first black player to play for the Lone Star Conference for Gil Steinke at A & I University at Kingsville. In 1964 he became the first draft pick for the then Houston Oilers.

Quarterback Randy Johnson was drafted from A&I in 1966, with 1967 Eugene Upshaw, Randy led the Giants to a Championship game and Eugene went to the Hall of Fame in Oakland and was President of the Union Accociation.

Myself, I played a year at the Air Force Academy 1969, and then a year in 1970 at A&I. I hurt my leg that next season and was not able to then play. I was a linebacker/defensive end. I played with the following players.

From A&I, Dwight Harrison, Eldridge Small, and Levi Johnson were secondary drafted players from 1971 to 1973. Also tight end David Hill. All were Pro Bowl during their carreers. They were joined by 1st round drafted DE Ernest Price and 1975 Houston drafted running back Don Hardemon.

QB Karl Douglas was drafted in the 3rd round by the Baltimore Colts in 1971. The year that Johnny Unitas and Earl Morrill left.

The Bishop and Kingsville area were the center of a lot of football development for the NFL under Gil Steinke and then, Texas A&I.

It was a hot bed then...wake up now. Not all were prima donas...on site.
Matt Millen was a Pro Bowl LB and sucked as a GM
I see the same problems with you

just because you post twenty times in your own thread does not mean anyone believes you

This isn't a school election and you or a bunch of belligerent acting out doesn't change a discussion. No problem but to a discussion.

Truth about players can stand on it's own merit and without rah rah's.

You haven't agreed to a single player merit.

Winning is the objective, not just a set of points. No how many are actually scored. The point is the good players on defense that are still talented to be pretty good.

Objective is the point. Not a bias against a static negative.

Some defensive players are still very good.

 Zimmer. Why is it being debated? This guy is obviously unable to reach the players. Bad fit in the NFL. Then it's also obvious we don't have good enough players. It's all true.

I haven't see one thing that gives me hope on defense and I don't even think the players play that hard for him.
A handful play hard. That's it. It's a fractured unit. Fractured team. A ship without a Captain. This team was put together with Scotch tape and worthless jargon in the off-season. We deserve everything that's happening.

The topic was players on defense and highlighted were the linebackers.

The defensive coordinator wasn't the failure on scheme. Injury created lack of adaption and execution.

The purpose was to give CREDIT to some players actually performing. That performance was so noted and provided.

Credit is given for performance, but limitations are so noted as well....why? Discussion and not a crying routine does not discuss and insults.
