Which direction do the Cowboys go at QB in 2021?

Now that we’ve come to grips with the shocking news yesterday the Cowboys have passed on resigning their QB which direction do you think we will go?

We have a top offense ready to contend now. Will we look to the draft as we most likely won’t have a high draft pick or will we look to FA for a veteran to step in.

This is a team built to contend now hiring a proven coaching staff brought in to win now. This is not a rebuilding situation.

The Cowboys decision yesterday regardless what side of the fence you’re on definitely sets our franchise moving forward in a different direction with the most important position in doubt.

Much like the 2019 season pointed the direction for the coaching staff (fired/replaced), 2020 — if it happens — will do the same for the QB position in 2021.

Depends on Dak. If he goes out produces big numbers and helps advance this team in post season then I fully expect him to remain as the Cowboys QB. If he bombs then Cowboys will be in search of a QB.

i think dak will do well this year, season provided. and if so, the fo and dak will more than likely be far more willing to get a deal done asap after the season is over. the fact they couldn't reach a deal this year isn't a harbinger of future negotiations. i'm sure dak will understand the line in the sand now.

I'm generally indifferent on Prescott, but they wont be able to replace him all that easily and quickly.

We have debated at great length at how certain players were held back because of Garrett.

Why is it not logical that Prescott should improve under MM?

I'm leaning toward it being a very good thing to have those two work together for a season before they commit long term.

Other than that, what is there to do....sign next years Phillip Rivers, draft one high, or tag him again.

I'd like to think this is the braintrusts' logic, but I just dont get the idea they think anything through at all sometimes.

The odds of that happening aren’t as likely since the price will be much higher than this year.

Why would our FO be willing to pay several million a year more than this year?

if mac can keep him throwing around 20-25 passes a game, he should have a great year. romo's best was in 2014 when we were balanced with murray running the ball.

The odds of that coming to bear aren’t as likely since the Cowboys have drawn their line in the sand. The price will be tens of millions more for a 4 or 5 year deal.

Some fans don't realize but Dallas has the leverage. They should look at alternative after season and if nothing materializes you just franchise Dak another season. Clearly they have major concerns about Dak being SB caliber QB and I think alot of fans share that sentiment.

I’m following the local media and press lead that this will most likely be Prescott’s last season with the Cowboys as they’ve decided he doesnt fit into their plans financially .

And will be much more expensive next year. Any big season he has in 2020 will further enable his value and pursuit of another team.

According to NFL guidelines the Cowboys are unable to renegotiate another contract until 2020 season is complete which means the earliest they could negotiate another contract is January 2021.

agree, i like where we are if Dak wants paid takes us to the big dance and I promise you will get your money, if we remain an average football team then maybe it is time for both to move on
