You can't use Romo as an example, that's just not in his nature and doesn't want to come across as a jerk, just going to sound like sour grapes after losing out to Dak. He may tell a different story while he's drinking with his buddies. TO did it and he gets dismissed as a lunatic with an axe to grind, which is the case but doesn't mean he isn't automatically wrong either. Just for full disclosure, I did not like TO, did not like his signing, did not like him on this team. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

TO only played underneath Garrett as coordinator, and thought Garrett was leaking stories about him to the press. He also thought Tony and Wit were drawing up secret plays behind his back.

People can make up their own minds about TO, but yeah, I consider him a lunatic with an axe to grind on account of him grinding so many axes and being a lunatic. It doesn’t mean he’s automatically wrong. It doesn’t mean he’s right, either. It only means he’s not a very reliable opinion on matters like these.

No one says it does. The point was that 5 of the 8 games averaged 26 ppg.

I doubt it's causing anyone any real harm.

Good point. You're really showing 'em.

Rule #215-b Sec 7-f - "lumping is completely at my discretion."

You'll notice if you read through I've consistently been saying Wade was to blame for 1-7. You're the one whose been trying to blame the offense.

He knows what the 5 games represent, he’s playing coy, because he wants to feel right about something....lol

TO left after the 2008 season and never played under Garrett as HC. We were talking about current players here, though, and I didn’t mean to suggest there aren’t players Garrett has moved off the roster who don’t like him. Besides TO there’s Jesse Holley and Patrick Crayton I know of who didn’t like him.

But there are a lot of players who do say respectful things about him and who don’t have a history of being malcontents like TO does. Fans can decide for themselves who they want to believe. As long as the team plays hard and says the right things, I’m happy.

That seems more than fair. At least you can see both sides of the coin.

You just know that Romo is talking smack about Garrett while he's drinking with his buddies. He's like "Do you realize, how many plays I had to change that he sent in? I'm here trying to get a 1st down and that's the poop playcall he sends me, what was he thinking? The whole defense will be expecting that horse hockey play and stuff it, even the beer vendor that has a vague grasp of English much less American football grasps enough not to call that play in that situation. Did he lose a bet to Ashton Kutcher and this play is gonna be on an episode of "Punk'd" I'm running for my life out here and his excuse at tomorrow's press conference will be...... "well, we just didn't execute" Execute! Execute! I tell you what, I'll show him the meaning of execute!"

His buddies will just say "Calm down Tony, have another beer" as they all try to avoid bringing up the topic of their fishing trip to Cabo next month.

the cowboys sucked under campo...because of garrett. garrett was thinking about football and it impacted the cowboys.

the cowboys sucked under parcells because garret was in the league and in the same division, anything coming close to garrett is going to suck

the cowboys sucked under wade, because garrett was a coach there...defense was totally impacted by his sheer presence and incompetence

the cowboys obviously sucked under garrett, well, becaue its garrett.

garrett sucks, because its his fault

earth is flat and that's because of garrett

got it?

Yeah, I got it.... but you said it with better emotion HAHAHA

Whether he change a play or not, it most certainly was part of the offense, and isn’t it the qb job to audible when he sees fit. There has been plenty of times the play was change at the line and it resulted into a negative play, so ....

Fans say things like this a lot, but the reality is that the players do consistently say they respect their HC and the team consisntently plays hard for him.

All or Nothing made it pretty clear how they felt about him, too, and it was all fairly positive.

Yeah but how many players truly say how they feel, versus the way they really feel? If they said they thought Garrett sucked as a coach, they wouldn't last long, or be wanted anywhere. They would be labeled a trouble maker. They would be considered the new T.O.

EDIT: Nevermind saw this was basically said by someone else as well lol.

I do believe Tony has some issues with Garrett. I suspect they were more about support and control of the offense than they were about specific play calls. But Tony’s always had faint praise for Jasonand said great things about Jerry and Linehan.

I felt Tony had a rather low appreciation for Garrett & Linehan in the play calling department. Because the 2014 season, he really did seem to be changing the plays completely at the line, at least it sure felt like that was what he was doing consistently. Which will not make a coach happy, especially if it gets out that the play changes you were making, were working. Which then makes the coaches look bad.

Nice edit, but that's not "what he said at all:

Here's reality:

That's completely false. They averaged closer to 20 than 30.

Anything else you want to be wrong about today?

But let me guess, this one won't be acknowledge either, right?
wow, you have gone to another level....you have gone plaid........

My point of the fictional Romo Rant was not the specifics of the rant itself. The topic I had with @Idgit was if a player does not like playing for a particular HC and doesn't express it to the media doesn't mean he wouldn't express in different circumstances. Just because they are PC while on the team or after they leave doesn't mean that's how they genuinely felt, but just might let it out amongst trusted friends and maybe in a way we wouldn't expect.

I would love to hear an Aikman rant behind closed doors about how he really felt about Switzer. That would truly be a "get your popcorn ready" moment and definitely not for delicate ears.

I picked that topic for purely illustrative purposes and the fact that Garrett had his playcalling duties yanked seemed a good one to use for an example. I'm sure Tony loved all of Garrett's play choices!

Again, how does 1-7 = 5? More of this homer math.

That and I know it hurts the homers.

5 being less than 8 is basic math.

Ok, so now we lump it all together? It's hard to keep track of your "rules."
OMG..... I had my 6th grader read this thread and he understood what he was saying. please tell me your reading comprehension is better than a 6th grader....apprantley not.

when you have no answers then one tends to just pick one thing and repeat it on an infinite loop, hoping to wear out others...

read the comments. read the posts, try to follow.....

he wasn't referencing the 8 games...he asked you a very very very very very very simple question....a question my 6th grader understood...

he said, if according to you garrett was sabotaging wade, then why did the team averaged 26 points a game after that first game....why were they trying to win?

if he is trying to get wade fired...why would they be among the best scoring teams in the league?

why is that so difficult for you to understand.... you, stasheroo....said first 8 games...he said specifically, very very very specifically, a 5 game span when they averaged 26...

and you never answered why did wades' defense was bad in that same 5 games...giving up 29/game...and in your favorite 8 games, the defense was worse under wade...compared to garrett?

wow..... I am going to get my 2nd grader to read the posts and see if he gets it...then we can truly establish your reading comprehension level.... wow
